What are the longest and most frustrating loading times you've seen in a game?

Did you complete that game? And what could you do with the time spent waiting for the loading screen to go by?

I think the longest I've come across is Populous for the Playstation :/ To load up a save took something stupid like 15+ minutes, a save that was no more than 1mb so god knows why it took so long, to make matters worse, it took about that length of time to save as well.

I've noticed the PS3 version of it still suffers from this problem despite being high tech and all -_- Its shorter though, which isn't really saying much considering it STILL beats out any loading I have ever endured. I did complete the game and I tried my best not to get defeated because there is no autosave, never have I felt so pressurised, lol

i played through dragon age on the PC, before they patched the memory leak. after a while the loading screens could take up to 5 minutes, and could theoreticly get infinitly longer. still beat it, just had to restart the game/my computer a few times. quite alot of times actually.

Divinity 2 worked really poorly on my decent computer. Especially with videos and whatnot. Had to load for 5 minutes or so.

Painful when there's a small video for every skill in the game, so when you level up, you have to wait for your computer to unfreeze.

The only example that I can think of right now is Valkyria Chronicles. The load times aren't that bad, but it seriously adds up when you have to keep reloading your save file because you keep missing a crucial shot.

I've waited a pretty damn long time for Team Fortress 2 to load. But that's just my PC's fault...

Back when my old computer was on the lamb it took 3 hours to load a section in Half Life 2. No joke.

Garry's freaking Mod, especially when I'm going onto a server that's playing a game-type or map I don't yet have.

DA: Origins and Fallout:NV on the 360 had some pretty fucking horrendous loading times. Also, if you count having to get updates then LBP was an absolute ****, needing about 3-4 hours to download updates every god damn week.

Hrmm...normally if it takes forever, I end it. Kind of felt like that when I played Duke Nukem before the reviews came out. Ended up dying thirty times and with a rough 3 minute loading time, it ended up becoming a 45 minute where I ended up staring at the screen time....for the most part..

After I install the game Guild Wars it took about an hour or two to load the first place after you created your character (however I was in University which the broadband was 1MB).

Also when they put put previews of the expansion from the same game "Eye of the North" it took about 6 hours to load the first preview area. I'm not kidding since I had to use 56k modern (I was at my parent house) to run it and it took that long due to downloading the preview area of the game.

You... you have the patience of a god.
Who said he wasn't one?
...Perhaps I should I start making sacrifices to his glory?

Most of Valve's games that I've played (including Gmod, despite not being made by Valve technically). Is it the engine?

You should porbably try and use the search bar next time, I believe several threads about this subject has been made before ;)

Anywho, the most annoying loading screen you say... hmm. Oh yeah. My PC had a hard time running Oblivion, and it often made the me wait 5 minutes to open a door into my small Waterfront house and then 5 more minutes to get out again. That kinda sucked, but I dont have trouble with that anymore

The load times are improved by installing the game to your hard-drive (360), but the stupid placement of fast-travel points in New Vegas (particularly around the actual Vegas area. McCarren, Freeside, etc) makes it so you will see countless loading screens while doing quests in the area.
