I've actually seen something like the begining of the video on the road, and in malls.

I shit you not, 2 blindingly idiotic looking females were chatting loudly on their phones... but something was odd, they were looking at eachother and laughing, and then when I could make out 2 sentences as I walked by, it seemed like they were in Conversation with EACH OTHER.

Needless to say Face palming ensued.

I actually think the gag comes from them having two completely seperate conversation that just happen together. I may be wrong though, I'm tired.

Jeez, that was clever and awesome! I wish I could watch one of your guys' brainstorming sessions. It's probably centered around a whiteboard that is completely covered in dry erase markings and just lots of baseless shouting until it all comes together into a single punchline, four minute video.

Ok, this joke can be taken in two directions:

They were talking to eachother.

They were talking to completely different people and it just sounded as an conversation between them.

Both are hilarious, but which is it?

They each were talking to different people. I took me half a video to realise it though.

Better? I don't know. Maybe if I were British and it was 20 years ago so I could get more than 50% of the jokes!
But it's true that the concept isn't new. Fry and Laurie's "Barman" sketch was similar, as well. Not that it really matters, and updates can be just as original. It's all good stuff, anyway.
