Antoher japanese panderfest to the everlasting perversion of people and the current and growing zombie obsession.
Not really something I would play, but i know theres that group of people who will.
Wasnt there an xbox360 game about zombie hunting girls in bikinis?
Dude, this game is clearly a homage to American exploitation/grindhouse movies, sorry to break it to you. James Gunn (a la
Super and
Sliter fame), a Hollywood writer and filmmaker, is on board, and given his past with good ol' Troma, he is the man you'd want on board to make a grindhouse sort of game.
The game is MUCH more American than anything too. Just from the Wikipedia article, I spotted three references to American horror/cinema. The high school is called "San ROMERO High School," for fucks sake (if I have to explain this one to you, then please hand in your nerd/geek membership card at the front desk). The main character's last name is Starling, as in the main character from
Silence of the Lambs Clarice Starling. I speculate that her first name is probably a reference to one of Gunn's earlier films,
Tromeo and Juliet, which he goes uncredited, but this could just be coincidence (funnily enough, I speculated that this is where they got the name from, but didn't know Gunn's association with the film until 5 seconds of research into his filmography).
Plus, given that Shadows of the Dammed was meant to be a homage to exploitation horror, it makes sense that the next game would also be a sort of homage to American exploitation films. So from what I can see, this game is DEFINITELY meant to appeal to American audiences much more than Japanese ones. So get off your high horse and cultural prejudices, and don't judge a game before you even read about it
