I cope with the crippling lonlieness of life by rubbing a cheese grater against my head.
And eating tons of ice-cream.
Sometimes i combine the two for an ice-cream eating head-grating BONANZA!
Of course not!
What i really do is hide behind a chirpy persona and make sarcastic jokes to mask my severe depression.

Music. Musicmusicmusic
If I'm alone and don't fancy playing a game or reading a comic book, I sit, stick my headphones on and listen to music. Anything from Frank Turner or The Gaslight Anthem to Architects or Parkway Drive. Mmmmm, music, a fantastic cure-all

This was how I used to deal with it as well, and still do when my gf is away. But when I met her I completely broke down and let everything out, to this day I'm amazed I didn't scare her off.

I create a solid routine that is well defined and get out of the house as much as possible.
And if this is coming from current situation Id reccommend joining a club or something.

And yes what everyones saying about it being a transient phase that will not last forever is completely true- it cant rain everyday, and even when it does its only raining in the puddles.

Off Topic: What does "snip" mean?

On topic: Hobbies. Lots of them. I play bass, learn C++ and Blender, dick around with GameMaker 8.1, draw, watch alot of TV, sleep (yes; sleeping is a hobbie-neigh! An art, to me.), play games, and read up about computers.

Oh yeah. I also spend some days "tripping the technicolor dreamscape" with my main squeeze Mary Jane.

I have no (or verly little) short term memory and, while this hinders me in other aspects of my life, it means I don?t remember that I?m lonely from one minute to the next and thus I am generally a very happy person...kinda wierd really.

Think positively about the future. You don't know what lonely is until you experience companionship. And vice versa. It may suck now, but the opposite of everything exists, you just have to find it.

Also, lot's of hobbies. Anything that can actively engage your mind and make you think less about the future ( I know its odd, seeing as how I said to think positively about the future).

Just try to keep your mind occupied, and when you have to think about the future, think of it in a positive way.

Self-fulfilling prophecies, people!

It's not a problem when it's self-inflicted. I'm just really picky about who I'm willing to spend any amount of time with, most people are either not smart enough to have a meaningful conversation of any kind or are just not worth my time.

So, I cope with it just fine in my own little misanthropic way because at least I'm not forced to put up with the inane ramblings of some half-wit telling me about an interesting rock they saw today or boring me stupid with some irrelevant drivel about their gray, tedious lives.
