So my AP Environmental Science class's teacher had her baby 5 weeks early, my principle got a teacher 6 weeks later, We meet her, she takes pictures of us to help her remember students names with pictures (note our school uses a system that allows teachers to see our faces from the year before when school pics were taken), has us fill out questionairre on who helps us with hmwk, hobbies, what we plan on leaving this class with. we go on thanksgiving break(US). We come back to school today and find out she quit via a voice message left for one of the main office people at 6 am monday morning. My principle is beyond pissed about this due to the fact he worked for 5 weeks to find a teacher that can teach Biology, environmental science, and Ap envi sci. He promised to send out an email to all the principles in the state of Massachusetts and telling them not to hire her if she ever applies at a different school. Long email list? yeah... I do feel bad for my principle because of all that he's gone through to get some one and then to have them quit after a day. your thoughts on any part of this rant?

had this happen with at least 2 sudent teachers back when i was in 6th form, it was their first day they met my year said how calm and knowledgeable we were and left the class smiling. 2 hours later they met the 12 - 13 year olds they would be teaching the rest of the time and immeadiatly left the teaching proffession at the end of the day.

It's obvious she took the pictures and information you gave her and is now plotting to systematically kill all of you from a basement somewhere not underneath your school.

Oh yeah, that is kinda creepy. They probably didn't give her their addresses, though, right?

Indeed. Normally with my victims, I either take the photos normally and look up their personal history in secret, or vice versa.

It's spelled 'principal' because he's your 'pal.'

Hurr hurr.

But that was a pretty shitty thing for that woman to do without a damn good reason, and a pathetic way to do it.

its a joke as it's been playing some pokemon white nbd, doing some work that my principal will count towards our grade.

also the whole pedophile joke was going around the class. It's a bullshit way to go out though to call and freak out and say you quit? really!? why not waste the gas to come up here and take your quitting like a true teacher!

Now why would he tell you that? Something doesn't smell right.

If you are telling the truth, he's already violated employement law, and a system wide "don't hire her" to other schoolboards will only make it worse. That man and his school board are going to be on the losing end of a very large lawsuit if you aren't just making this up. He might also have breached state privacy laws, that could even more serious, depending where you live.
that's what I heard from a couple of students in my class. well I think he's doing the right thing when a teacher walks out via phone call you won't be getting a good review whatsoever

While it was crappy of her to do, there could have been any number of reasons why she quit. We had one teacher when I was in 8th grade that quite after only a month because she had to return her home state because her mother's health was failing. Don't get me wrong, I can tell the situations are vastly different, but yeah.

Also the thing about teaching is kind of like being a police officer. You go through all the training and you go to first day and....you can't handle it. So you quit. I'm not trying to say teaching is the same as being a police officer, it's just a job that until you get into you will have no idea what to expect. I've taken some teacher's certification classes and while they are informative, there's no way that they can teach you how to handle all situations, hell they can't even teach you how to handle a few situations.

But who knows, maybe she is planning something sinister and evil...or is just a total lazy *****.

Ahh I see. When you said long term sub I thought you meant that she was expected to stay long term. Well then who knows...
