About a week...

Seems my body doesn't need much sleep... So insomnia kept me awake for a whole week :/

Though I then slept in til the afternoon a few days in a row after.

About 5 days, I think it might have been more like over a week but I can't say for sure. Was playing 2 player Diablo on the playstation with my mate. I remember it being 5 days because his mom would come in each day with dinner and yell at us for not sleeping. It really wasn't that hard, after day two we stopped feeling the need for sleep but on the last day man were we messed up. We couldn't really hold a conversation, only blinked like every two minutes or so and were hallucinating like mad. I remember sitting in the back of their car still hearing the Diablo music and watching the game being played out on the back of the seat it was almost as clear as watching the tv. It's not something I would recommend :)

Barely over 24 hours when I was young to see if I could. This would have coincided with renting a console back in the day and playing it for hours with my brother as a birthday gift.

Not worth it considering how long it takes to get back into routine.

Nearly 96 hours. (4 days and nights)

I was suffering from insomnia at the time, couldn't sleep for two days and on the third day my cousin got me a copy of Peter Molyneux's Black and White. I played that game all through the night and upon sunbreak was finally about to pass out.

Then my big sister stepped in and said "OH NO YOU DON'T! You already stayed up these past nights, it's Christmas Eve, you're not going to waste the day away!"

So she dragged me along to go shopping. I then began to hallucinate and get delusions, and these hallucinations and delusions were heavily influenced by Black and White.

I saw the "Angel and Demon" on the rims of my glasses, walked with my hand outstretched and grabbed things just like the hand cursor/control from the game, I also kept grabbing and throwing things, and basically thought I was God. Throughout the day I tried "to access the console in real life" to type in cheats, kept jumping in an effort to fly, and acted otherwise completely bizarre.

I have a feeling if I was awake for any longer, I would've given Jack Thompson a hell lotta ammo.

Oh my gosh, that post right there is probably the funniest post I've read on this forum so far. Were you tossing stuff at the store? Wouldn't you get in trouble for doing that?

I work weird shifts which can lead to lack of sleep. The longest I've stayed up was for 4 days. I stay up for 48+ regularly. After 24 hours I don't like driving. After 36 I only drive if I absolutely have to. After 48 I will not drive as I've found that things stop throwing attention flags. Red lights and cars take a few seconds to exist as I float in and out of lala land. I can hold a conversation and as long as I've eaten and I can still do complex tasks, but I still have someone else look over them if they're important.

I've found that the most important thing when pulling long hours is blood sugar. The difference between being completely useless and being competent after 36 is eating regularly. If I eat regularly, have vitamins in my system and have plenty of water, 2 days aren't too bad and few will notice. After 3 days people will notice that something is off.

If I haven't eaten, my attention span and usefulness will fall to that of a house cat. Things will be played with. Brain activity beyond subconscious will regularly flat line and I will have to regularly snap myself or have someone else snap me out of it.

44 hours, 47 if you count timezone changes.
I had stayed up the night before my trip to the east coast, hoping to take that opportunity to sleep on the way there. Unfortunately, my stomach was in such pain that I didn't get a wink of sleep. By the time I was there, I was exhausted, but I had to check in with folks online before I crashed. I was up another four hours doing that, before I fell asleep at my laptop.

Not a pleasant trip, but I've had worse.

I did just over 80 hours with a friend once when we were 16. It really wasn't that pleasant at the end. Like said before reality starts to twist. I couldn't do it now at all darn this aging thing.

You can die of a lack of sleep! A week apparently is the most the body can handle before it just shuts down! I don't know how those of you who did a week did it without serious consequences!!
My cousin went to the doctor once when he was getting like 2-3 hours of sleep then working and trying to maintain some form of social life, doctor said that if he didn't start getting more sleep he would die from exhaustion. So right after that he came over and slept for over 24 hours
Yeah I had a similar problem in my last year of uni when I had insomnia at it's worst. Same thing. 2 - 3 Hours max sleep a night while going to class, doing my honours thesis AND working 5 evenings a week. The Dr was flabbergasted. Sleeping tablets AHOY!

Nowadays I really make sure I get at least 6 a night. Weekends I just sleep through half the time!!

I'm guessing around 20-24 hours I tend to wake up at the same point each day, and if I'm at my friends I tend to stay up later, there have been a few times when I've stayed up until dawn, but i usually fell asleep soon after. I don't like being tired.

Roughly 72 hours, deployment to Iraq and unfortunately I was the only one available to setup the tactical LAN. Afterwards I slept on a cot next to the servers, so was still unable to get any 'decent' sleep for about a month.

Well, the items I picked up were mostly just trash on the street. As for items at the store, only clothes and socks at an Old Navy and American Apparel, and since they're so light nobody seemed to mind.

The only dangerous and reckless part was when I was over at my Grandmother's later that night, I began picking these polished stones that were the base of her potted bamboo plant. I was repeatedly throwing them against her neighbor's window in an effort to break it (I didn't since it was strong plexiglass.)

I stayed awake for around 3 days being completely hooked on flash games. I probably would have done a fourth if it wasnt for my vision starting to blink at the start of the 3rd night. It freaked me out so much I went straight to sleep.
