What is the longest single-player campaign you have ever played?
This cannot include "100% Completion" games, as these are side-quest based. I mean the campaign itself.

Mine is Myst. If you were to add up the time I spent playing this, it would add up to at least a couple of days.

Oblivion, maybe? That was really long, although I am not quite sure about how long it is without sidequests.

Would you count Campaigns in the Total War series of games? Or are you specifically looking at story-driven gameplay? Longest in TW for me would be the better part of a week in terms of hours (though it was more like 3 months of on/off gaming around work).

Technically, I think that would have to be one of the FIFA games I have, because the single-player "campaign" there is to basically just play games indefinitely.

But I don't think that's what you mean. I have to say I actually don't really know. I played both Baldur's Gate 2 and Morrowind, and while I think they both have fairly long main campaigns (unless you speedrun), they have so much side missions that it's hard for me to estimate how long they actually are. Other than that, it's probably Final Fantasy 8 or 7 (although I never actually finished 7).

The first time i finished final fantasy 7 my game clock was just over 100 hours, i think somewhere around 107. and a good chunk of that is story, sure there's some grinding every so often but a good chunk of that is pure story, sure don't make 'em like that anymore.

The Baldurs Gate Trilogy
(Thats a mod that combines BG1 and BG2 + expansions to one epic game
using BG2s engine)
Unless you ultra speed run that it will take a while.
Im currently on my 2nd run btw. and Im still in BG1 with too many hours to count.

Where can you get that?

OT: FF7 was long and the paradox games are also pretty long.

Final Fantasy X is pretty damn long
especially if you do all the sidequests
you basically have to traverse an entire planet on foot which takes days of gameplay time, then there's a twatload of dark aeons and PENANCE! but even once you beat the main boss (sin) the recurring side boss (seymour) is inside him, then there's yet another boss (Yu Yevon) which pits all your aeons against you which could be a string of 9 battles or so, then you fight Jecht and it's just a neverending expanding spiral of endless bosses
the game helpfully tells you how long you've been playing underneath the save
my longest record is 136 hours
i know, even for an escapist member that's still a bit long to spend on a game

Star Ocean til the End of Time was pretty long. Took me 80 hours to get to the end, and I tacked another 30 or so doing sidequests.

Resonance of Fate took me 72 hours

Persona 3 took about 80 something

Persona 4 took me about 75

Dragon Quest 8 I believe I put about 70 hours into then another 30+ doing sidequests.

World of Warcraft, got over a month of log-in time on my character.

Oh, singleplayer campaign time.

Probably Medieval 2: Total War, in that case. Got about 150 hours on my Grand Campaign save and I'm still not finished!
