EVE Online. 4933 hours and still going :)
WHAT! I call shenanigans.
That amounts to 205 days playtime.

OT: I spent a year playing Oblivion, on and off. Still haven't finished the main q.

In A link to the past it took me a year to beat the dark world temple #2 because I couldn't figure out what that switch was. (the one that changed the water level)
Similar thing happened to me at the Tower of Hera in the Light world, it took me till the remake released to beat that game so roughly 5 years maybe.

Got stuck on Yoshi's Island at stage 1-6 because I couldn't grasp the concept of ground pounding then again at the World 3-8 Boss where I didn't realize I could bounce eggs on the water, So that game took a good few years as well, God was I stupid in the '90

3 years.
I started Oblivion, could only just run it, got bored of lagging and hitting friendly people in the face by accident and getting guards attacking me, got a better computer, played it, finished it.

Oblivion, Fallout 3, GTA: San Andreas...I just didn't want the games to end. Plus, I found just exploring the world to be more interesting than going and following a main quest line.

EDIT: Oh, and FFVII, FFVIII & FFIX are also up there. Aside from the fact that the games are epic, I made damn sure I'd seen and done everything in the world. I'd maxed out my characters by the time I finished.

I'm still stuck on the last boss in Luigi's Mansion, and I got it when it came out, which was, like, 2002.

So that's 7 years, on one boss.

I've been playing FFXII for well over two years now. I play it for about a month at a time every 5 months. It just can't play it that constantly.

ffx took me 2 copies, one scratch repair, and 2 do-over's, plus a hefty 2-3 years of procrastanation. and take the 120 hours of gameplay for the final run through.

It took me until this year to beat Pokemon Yellow. I kept restarting the game when I got bored. Finally sat down and beat it this year. Yes I've had it since it was released, so I think that's about 10 years of not beating this game.

As pathetic as this sounds, Portal. I'm still stuck on that boss *****. I also haven't compleated all of Halo 3 on legendary.

Probably Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time. I rage quited, because I didn't have a working memory card and someone turned off the console.

Well, I never beat Marrowind, but I had a hell of a lot of hours on it. Not sure if that counts.
Marrowind: The game that takes place inside a bone.
Call of Booty, and Metal Rear Solid are great games.

Zelda: Wind Waker

Started it 5 months ago, played most of the way through and couldn't be arsed finishing it.

I bet people can guess why, too.

I guess it took me about a year and a half to beat Half Life 2, I'd start it and only play a little bit through before forgetting about it. Bad decision on my part seeing as it's one of my favorite games now.

Although, I've been playing FFX since 2006 and still haven't beaten it. I never have time for it

Bought Oblivion when it came out, spent a solid 100+ hours with it since then, yet I've never beaten it.

To complete the main quest in Oblivion took me about 170 hours, because I did almost every other quest including Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles before I did it.

Non-RPG game would be 50 hours getting 100% on San Andreas.

Just-the-story game would be Tomb Raider III, which I gave up on at Lost City of Tinnos about ten years ago. Only 2-3 years ago did I go back and finish it (though I had level-skipped it beforehand. I cheated a lot as a kid) so really that wins with, what, seven or eight years lol.
