That "Slytherin" from Hary Potter sounds like "slithering" as in 'what snakes do'.

That took me 10 years to finally realise
Oooowh.. but then what does Huffelpuff mean?

I don't know.

Slytherin is snake-like with the name, Gryffindor refers to the Gryffin which is a noble beast, a half-lion ancient greek thing, Ravenclaw is named for Ravens who are apparently linked to intelligence somehow. At least that's what I think in terms of their names.

Hufflepuff though? Fuck knows...

Two polar bears are taking a bath at the north pole. One looks and the other and says "Pass the soap". The other bear answers "No soap, Radio!"

Que family laughter. Me not getting it. Took a while anyway

When I was about 3 years old my dad flew small airplanes. One day the Flying club got a new plane and it looked like it had pontoons on the landing gear for water landings, so I asked my dad "Can this plane land on water?" my dad responded "Every plane can make one water landing." I was only three years old at the time so I didn't dwell on it too much until I was about 16 that phrase just came up in my head and it clicked. It was a real hurr durr moment.

Not really a joke, but it took me ages to realise that the singer Flo Rida's name was just a play on words of Florida.

Not really a joke, so much as a line from a musical. Two sailors in Les Miserables, singing "Lovely ladies, smell 'em in the air! / Think I'll drop my anchor in that harbor over there!" Took me about fifteen years to get that line, even after seeing the show myself. In my defense, I'd been hearing those lyrics since I was like, five, so I'd kind of stopped listening a long time earlier.

"Squidward" was a parody of "Edward".

Not really a joke, but after 10 faithful years of watching I just realized it -_-

There is no hope for you my friend.
I'm usually pretty good with jokes myself, and there aren't many that I didn't get which particularly stick in my mind.

That the name of the kid that Fred kept thinking was behind every crime in the scoopy doo kids show, was named "Red Herring." "a deliberate attempt to divert attention"

I used to watch South Park when I was 7 or 8 years old, so naturally most of the humor went way over my head. 14 years later I revisit those same episodes and...wow.

It took me a good while to understand Sony Playstation's Original spelling of their slogan, "You are not ready" as "URNOTE" (with the letter e being in red while the others were black)

It wasn't until I watched a PS1 commercial for what had to be the 200th time and just out loud to myself, "What the hell does a Red E have to do with the word...! Oh..."

A drunk man walks into a bar. I always waited for people to finish the joke, but that is the finished joke. HE walks into a bar, presumably hitting his head, and falling over.
