I played Bladestorm for about 100 hours before beating the story.

That's a fairly long time...

Assuming that it isn't the game I put the most hours into? I'd have to say Tales of Vesparia, very long drawn out story, but I enjoyed every minute of it!
I actually thought the story was really short... but that was also because I was enjoying too much of it and time just flew by :(. Shame they don't make sequels :(.

Back on topic, I would say that morrowind was my longest, since I thought if you beat dagoth ur the game ended and you couldn't do any other sidequests, so I had a system that ever like 3 main quest quests I would do a faction sideline :p

AND then the expansions came out :0

400+ hours gone.

Sim City 2000 would be it, as the ending to that game would be when all of the launch arco's demonstrate their namesake.

Spent somewhere between 60 and 80 hours on Disgaea 3 before I beat the final boss.
I can't be more accurate, I finished the game 6 months ago but I've spent at least 80 hours in the endgame(160 hours on the timer).

Actual storyline within a game? Probably Baldur's Gate 2, or one of the Final Fantasies.

Okami took forever...so I'm gonna go with that.

Just when you thought it was over, they pulled another big bad out of their asses.

I'm going to say Morrowind, the world was huge and you could wander around indefinitely, though there are longer main stories out there. There was just a certain immensity and depth to the narrative of Morrowind. Also due to the detailed history the story kinda started before the gameplay.

Longest single Campaign?
Final Fantasy 13..

Game that I've taken teh longest to beat teh Campaign?
Oblivion. The sidequests are just too distracting.

And the Campaign I still play eve though I've beaten it?
Demon's Souls.
"This is the game that never ends. It just goes on and on my friends! Some people started playing it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue playing it forever just because."

Cannot remember the name of the game but its a 4 Disk long RPG and after grinding to beat a guy the story line changes so that you no longer have to fight that guy but some other guy.

You are going to have to be more specific, you just named every JRPG ever made.

I have never played it myself the guy who was talking about it said that it was for the PS2 and it had no level cap and the level to beat the guy I mentioned was like 150 or some insane number like that and that he had been playing it for a couple years and hadn't beaten it yet since he got fed up with the story changes.

My FFX save file says 60 hours. I'd say that's the longest. Even compared to some Sandbox games.

It'd have to be Final Fantasy V for me. That game just wouldn't end. Okay, we went through all the elemental crystal dungeons all over the world, right? So we fight the bad guy right? There's another whole world? And after we go all over that world and take down the villain and...there's another one!? %#$%#~!

FF3 rivals this with it's world-within-a-world and multiple airships.

Not counting RPG's or games DLC add ons, this generation I've found Castlevania Lords of Shadow to be the longest (that is if you are just counting main storylines and not doing submissions or any extra stuff). All time, I really can't remember since it's been so long since games had a long single player storyline (like I said, I'm not counting RPGs).

Farcry 2 maybe? I don't know how long it actually is but it certainly feels like forever. The farthest I ever got was 20% and that took me about ten hours.

Possibly Zelda: Wind Waker. You get the three pearls, do a dungeon, do two more dungeons, get eight Triforce charts, get eight Triforce shards, do a dungeon that has you revisit the boss fights of the previous four dungeons, then beat Ganon twice.

Not to say it isn't fun, it's in my top 10 :D

Also I loved the sailing.
I went there.
