let's see here...

Okami takes friggin ages...
GTA: SA was the longest to actually FINISH the game, but only 'cuz I kept fucking around in it...
FFX and FFX-2: still un-fucking-finished, after AAAAAGES!
Shadow of the Colossus: Not bad, but worth it all
Second Sight: Alright length, awesome ending.

I'm gonna have to say FFX/FFX-2, in terms of length of actual game, plus least amount of time allotted for fucking around.

Fallout 3, just because it NEVER ENDS! I played that game over and over.
Hafta agree there because I always finish the side missions before the story. Always. It's still fun it's just something I do.

I'd like to take a minute to say

NECROVISION

god that game takes freaking forever, I must have spent like 40hs on its singleplayer alone

maybe because it goes rather slow or because it has a shitload of levels, the game is awesome, but it is eternal
40 hours? Seriously?

What is the longest ever story/campaign you have ever played in your life of gaming. I would have to say Final Fantasy XII (don't stone me!). I had to level grind forever to have a chance at beating it.
I'd have to agree with you there. FFXII took me about 50 hours to finish the story (total of 220 hours to do absolutely everything in the game).

FFXIII was quite long as well, just over 45 hours without too much powerleveling, though to finish that one 100% you might not need more than 100 hours.

Pac-man. Very few people have ever beaten it, and (I might be wrong) the game actually breaks when you do (that or it resets).

I was actually being a sarcastic jerk. 40 hours isn't that long compared to a lot of games in this thread.
I guess if it's 40 hours just to get through the core game with no messing around, that's pretty long.

Probably Baldur's Gate. If I take the entire story (Baldur's Gate, it's expansion, Baldur's Gate 2 and Shadows of Amn) it took about 400 - 500 hours to beat. Baldur's Gate 2 alone took around 200 to get through.

yeah I noticed some sarcasm there, but how many FPS's do you know that are longer than 6 hs?

modern ones, that is, and Bioshock doesnt count
