Looking for a good non MMO pirate game

I love pirates, anything to do with'em even pirate metal, but I rarly see pirate videogames, never mind good pirate games.
so any one got suggestions? non MMO's please I dont have the spare time.

2nd this one its truly one that will have you playing for months due to all the options.

Another you can try if you dont mind emulation is the SNES game Uncharted waters New horizons.

Check out Puzzle Pirates, it's a bit on the kiddy side but it's fun and an MMO, as you can guess it is heavily entrenched in puzzles, also it's free to play but has an currency that you actually need to do most things, you can use real money to get it or buy it with lots of in-game money.

Sid Meier's Pirates! is the best Pirate game of all time, full stop. But it's single player only.

Erm, Sid Meier's Pirates is single player only I thought. It's never had on-line servers.

At least, I'm about 99% sure about that. If the game I have is a post multi-player-era version of the game, I'd love to know more about when it was a multi-player game.


Aside from Monkey Island (I know, I was shocked to discover there was an aside too...), Tropico 2 is pirate based, but not as good (or easy to get to speed with) as Tropico to be honest.

Risen is essentially a single-player pirate rpg, though the player character is stuck on an island for the duration. Risen 2 will have ships when it comes out next year.

Yeah definitely have to third (fourth?) Sid Meier's Pirates and Monkey Island.

Aside from that I... don't think I actually know any other pirate games, strange...

Theres a difference between a multiplayer game and an MMO like world of warcraft a big difference, one can be played on and off with small amounts of investment while MMO's suck up your life (been there done that).
