I am done with online gaming for awhile, it has gotten really agitating lately. DOes anyone have any recommendations for a great single player game for under 25$?

It can't be one of these [http://screwattack.com/blogs/Air-Force-One-Logs/Video-Game-Collection-v2-The-Christmas-Haul], and needs to be on of those systems obviously.

Preferably not a sports or racing game.

Fallout 3 is arguably the best single player game of this generation of consoles but it's on that list, so I don't know, sorry.

Eternal Sonata is pretty decent game, and I do mean decent. I would recommend Persona 3, but you seem to lack the necessary PS2 equipment(seriously, the one person in the world without a PS2.)

The first Assassin Creed game as well, didn't see it on the list.

Bioshock should be under $25. Or maybe Prototype
Bioshock is four bucks on steam today.
So is torchlight, an excellent game, I highly recommend it. I put thirty hours into it in about four days.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Mirror's Edge is pretty swell, if free-running is your sort of thing.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, if free-running and atrocious combat is your sort of thing.
Prince of Persia (This generation,) if bad free-running and decent combat is your sort of thing.

You appear to like Zelda. You have an N64. You don't have Majora's Mask. Get Majora's Mask.

360
bioshock, prootype, dragon age (doubt under 25)dead space, mass effect,

xbox original
morrowind, jade empire, sudeki, XIII, oddworld strangers wrath and munches oddesy,

playstation (***** to find but the most expensive will be $20)
legend of the dragoon, oddworld abes oddessy/exodus, spyro (first for sure, check out the later ones if you like), gex, spider man, ape escape and metal gear

keep in mind tht the reason that the 360 has so few god single player titles is because this is the online age, EVERYTHING must be online or it wont sell. or so they think. the earlier consoles couldnt do online at all, thats why they are so numerous

This is a really good idea, and you reminded me to update my avatar picture. Fantastic overlooked entry in the series, and I snagged a used copy for like 4$ a few years ago.
I know it wasn't on your list, and you are going for the under $25, but if you managed to get your hands on a PS2, you'd be in cheap single player heaven.

I don't see Link's Awakening in that list. This disturbs me greatly.

If you can find them I'd try Gothic (PC), Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA), Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES), Yoshi's Island (SNES) and of course Link's Awakening (GB). As I understand a couple of these are severely underrated.

I wholeheartedly agree, and was going to recommend this one. But I might disagree with one point. It's not the best singleplayer game of this generation of consoles, it's the best single player game EVER. At least in my opinion.
