What it says on the tin; I am looking for a new roleplaying game, be it MMO, single-player, or co-op. I've played many in my time and I'm currently searching for a new, innovative, fun one.

It needs to be on either the 360 or the PC, and not any of the following games:-

-Elder scrolls
-fallout
-wow
-runescape
-guildwars
-maplestory
-D+D online
-EvE
-fable
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R

or anything majorly popualar in the RPG series that i've already heard of; I just need something new in my gaming experiences, thank you :) <3

A bit of out the norm, but I always like to suggest the Paper Mario/Mario and Luigi series. The games are too good to pass up.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Awesome fucking game, it's a bit old, but it is so freaking good you won't care.

The Witcher 2 is awesome though I guess you've already heard about that.
Picking up from classics I'd say Wizardry 8 (dont worry about the high number, you don't need the previous games to enjoy it - besides those are like super old :]). <---Strategy RPG
I had a lot of fun with Dark Messiah (though its pretty short and MP is just... not working very well for me).
^ Action fantasy RPG

If you are into story I'd say Bioshock (you can get a sweet deal on Steam). I wasn't exactly blown away by to controls which seemed bit sloppy for PC shooter and RPG elements are around stalker lvl ("new magic" & stats) but the story & atmosphere can make up for those shortcomings.

Witcher 2 is the best PC RPG to come out in a while, and if you want to wait until August Human Revolution is probably going to be a landmark.

But if you want to look at old games, you have an insane number of options. I'd advise Planescape: Torment, but there's basically something for everyone if you dig enough.

I'd go with this. Just make sure to patch it up (including the unofficial patches), otherwise it's buggy as hell.

Have you ever dabbled in the Roguelike genre?
Most of the best Roguelikes ever are free.

I can give two suggestions. My two favorite games of all time. One new, one old.

Dragon Age: Origins, and Chrono Trigger.

Thanks so far everyone :) just to clarify, i'm not intrested in any kind of JRPG's, and open-world/sandbox-esque are my ideal choices, but any suggestions are appreciated :)

It's probably been mentioned before but pick up Dragon Age, dude. I also hear Mass Effect is pretty good if you're looking for console RPG's.

If you want something for the PC, definately play Baldur's Gate 1 + 2 (this has been mentioned before, but it's worth mentioning again). Very in depth, easy to pick up - tremendously difficult to master, but in a rewarding way.
