Looking for an open ended game that isn't all about combat...

Life is hectic enough; every so often we just need to relax. Does anyone know of any good open-world games that won't force me to do combat incessantly?

Just to clarify, HAVING combat is a nonissue (almost all games of note have combat). Having combat as the main point of the game is what I'm looking to avoid right now (otherwise I'd be playing Skyrim).

Oh, also, ideally PC, but I can do anything that's not Xbox 360 (as I don't own one).

Minecraft. Play on peaceful.

Why did this not come across to your mind? (Not saying you're stupid, I was just wondering.)

If you're a good sneaker in Skyrim you almost never have to engage in combat :p

One of my characters has only one kill to her name.

Maybe try Proteus. All you do is explore and go through season changing portals. I find it quite relaxing.

Freelancer - get the patch to skip the main quest (otherwise it starts right away and sidetracks you), and enjoy a game about space exploration. You can do jobs that fit your play - bounty hunting, for example would have more combat, but you can also just do trading, exploration, and scavenging. Aside from the occasional space pirate you might run into, you don't have to fight anything. Even then, you could escape them - preferable if your ship is not stacked full of firepower.

I've no idea why I didn't think of Minecraft; I'll be sure to try it out (for some reason, I've never played it). I do remember playing and enjoying Freelancer quite some time ago, so that should definitely be one to look out for. Proteus... I've never heard of, so I'll have to look it up.

Thank you for the suggestions!

That's good to hear. I just have to stress again - skip the MQ. Last year I wanted a care free, open world game to relax and installed Freelancer. I thought I could take the MQ but after it finished I was burned out on action and didn't want to touch it any more, so I uninstalled it.
