Looking for co-op players

So after feeling a lot of chest and head pains/yelling after playing an online game (It's closed beta so NDA) I did some research. It turns out I may have Intermittent Explosive Disorder (not surprisingly dubbed IED) and I've read that while multiplayer does not cause this, it does trigger my IED symptoms. Since I don't want to be one of those people that make video games look like violence causers, I've been looking to get into co-operative games. I currently have a lot of titles but nobody to play with (as soon as I stopped playing MP my "friends" lost interest) so I've been wondering what some good titles were. I'm mainly a sandbox type because I love Just Cause 2 and Oblivion, but I'm willing to try pretty much anything. I know this sounds like the dumbest thing someone could post but I'm really trying to be a better person. Some things though: I'm a clean person, do not ask me about my story because it's very dull, and no co-op has never made me mad so I figure it's okay.

And to answer everyone's question: No, I haven't broken anything yet, so I'm trying to stop now.

EDIT: I'm also on the PC, Central Standard Time, and am NOT getting anything CoD related.

I'm assuming you have a 360, as the PSN is down. Get the Left 4 Dead series as they are based in co-op. Gears of War series and the Halo series also have co-op going for them. Games that are not exclusive to that system include Resident Evil 5, Call of Duty World at War, Modern Warfare 2 has a fun Spec Ops co op mode, Black Ops has zombies which is a blast to play with friends. The problem with all of those save Black Ops is that they are old games, and therefore they have a small online group now, so it may be tricky to find people to play with. And Modern Warfare 2 doesn't let you jump into someone's game. You must be on their friend list, which is rather annoying.
If you have a PS3, I can't really think of any co-op games that aren't also on the 360. I think one of the Uncharted games has it, though I'm not sure.

Or I could be that rare breed of gamer that plays on the PC...

We've been doing some Co-op supreme commander lately. That can be quite fun - 3 humans vs 5 impossible AIs. Starcraft might do the trick too.

The guild might be one to try, it is competitive but what with the slow* pacing might well be ok. Its certainly not as directly competitive as CoD et al.

Hell, dig out Doom with the multiplayer mods and do some co-op nightmare difficulty. :D

There need to be more games with a co-op option. Taking supreme commander as an example - of the 5 of us that often play together on that if we play competitively we can tell the rankings before the game begins. Be nice to be able to do more games like crysis/far cry co-operatively and just crank up the difficulty.

*really really

I've tried RTS and I really...REALLY suck at it. I'm okay with moving units and attacking but for some reason I can never hit max level in 5 minutes like everyone else seems to be able to.

Well, thats why the co-op play can be more fun. I'm about middle of our group of 5 but we basically play with a shared base vs the AI. Way it works is we all build a shared defense. Ok, so some players only contribute 2 turrets while another puts in 10 but it works. Other reason I'm focusing on RTS is that they always have a way to do co-op unlike FPS.

Definately worth looking at portal & l4d but beyond that I'm struggling to think.

Ooh, killing floor. Similar idea to l4d but different play style and some of the "zombies" have guns/chainsaws for arms.

co-op games? lets see, Borderlands is quite fun with some friends,so is crackdown(both of them), if you want a challenge get rainbow six Vegas 2( I finished it with a friend in a night, it's quite hard and fun too!!!), aand if you're more of a stealthy guy you could buy Splinter cell: convinction(which has a separate campaign for co-op only). Gears of War (I & II) are great examples of cool co-op.

now onto the PC games, there's this gem which has passed unnoticed called Killing Floor, which is extremely co-op and very very gore and fun with mates, I'd check it if I were you. You also have L4D 1&2(if you don't already have them), Alien Swarm(free Steam game) or even Blacklight: Tango Down(a sci-fi fps with a nice, although optional, co-op campaign)...it's just a shame it's on GFWL.

oh and if you get any of those games, be sure to send me a message and add me to Steam or XBL, to have some laughs. ;)

My Steam ID is dacommando (AKA DaHero) if you guys are willing to let me take a shot. I have L4D 1&2, Borderlands, Alien Swarm, Vegas 3, Convicion AND Chaos Theory, I could get a new RTS once I get the money for it...
