The Aqua Teen Hunger Force game? I haven't played it but I'm sure it's as demented as the show.

I just picked up Patapon. Amazing and weird.

I thought Earthbound was pretty demented the first time I played it as well.

It sounds a lot like what OneHP is talking about, but I remember Space Bunnies Must Die! for the PC. Reading reviews I realize how crappy it was, but something about making poorly rendered zombies dance so they wouldn't eat you while you blasted genetically modified killer rabbits kept me entertained for far, far too many hours.

Hey. It was 1998. Who knows.

And it's probably not what you're talking about, but I can't help but think of The Witcher for the PC. Yes, it's supposed to be serious, and yes, it's rather filthy, but the voice acting is so wonderfully idiotic and everyone acts so much like they've sustained serious head injuries that the only reason I kept playing it after the 10th hour was to see what kind of poorly-emoted insanity I was going to have to plow through next. Oh, and of course the doing it with random witches.

I mean, seriously, a game that let's you get drunk in a bar, then fuzzes the screen and makes you stumble around in direct relation to how much you drank should obviously be considered a goofy game.

Well, for that and the pants-on-head combat.

American McGee's Alice. I'm scarred by the thought...
Well, I'm glad SOMEONE thought to mention this one. American McGee's Alice is one of the most demented games ever, and I really hope I don't have to explain this one.

Even though I haven't played it yet, I hear that Eternal Darkness is pretty messed up, as well.

Starshot: Space Circus Fever. I managed to finish two levels before my brain melted.
Dark Seed II. I'm surprised I didn't become a schizophrenic after finishing it. I don't even understand how I did that as I was constantly scared to death.

I fourth Alice. Never played it myself, but from what I saw staring over my brothers shoulder as he played, it's plenty messed up in the head.

I second Eternal Darkness. It is just as demented as you may expect, perhaps even more. And it all centers on one little thing: the Insanity meter.

It's unfathomable to me that this might not've been mentioned yet, but I didn't see it. Hopefully I'm just unobservant, but still...

Earthworm Jim. It's groovy.

Ribbit King on the PS2

it is one of the daftest games I have ever played and its quite wrong, you shouldn't be allowed to hurl innocent frogs into the open mouths of snakes, wiggle them free and then dose them up with drugs so that you can hurl them futher on your next turn!

that said it is great fun!

and I second Gitaroo Man!

If you can find it I'd recommend a PC title by the name of 'Toxic Bunny', I played this years ago after picking up a copy at my local 'PC World'. It involves a psychotic caffeine addicted rabbit seeking revenge on his alien(I think?) overlords for taking away all the coffee machines. I unfortunately lost the disk and have never even been able to find a mention of it anywhere, let alone an actual copy.

Edit: After posting this a quick Google search turned up some results that had somehow slipped past before, how odd.
I remember seeing that game in the shop years ago, never bought it but i thought it looked cool. Totally forgot about that game!

I'd definitely recommend Okami if you havent played it yet. Unique art style, talking animals, crazy characters, lots of humour and of course, great gameplay.
