Hey guys,

Recently took the (admittedly pretty poorly-planned) step of quitting my job and becoming a full-time content creator.

The first idea I came up with was to do concise reviews of games in a YouTube series called 30 Second Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_7DYE2OAi0&list=PLe6Km7QryeUTYjrpe2WNjmhTVjx5eeS8t. I did a look around afterwards and found that I am one of a few who already had the same idea, but they don't post half as frequently as me - I put a new video out every weekday.

I know it's rough around the edges and the intro needs shortening to just a couple of seconds, but I am always looking for ways to improve. Genuine feedback is welcomed. Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place for it.

Thank you!

You fool! Has thou not read the Holy Script? The Champions of the forum lay in wait! Watching from electronic shadows to pass judgement upon those who would defile these digital lands by waving their own banners. Do not tarry here long, stranger.

...

In other words, please read the COC. Keep that stuff on your profile, or maybe post it in user reviews.

To my knowledge it's okay to link to your video as long as the topic is about how to improve it, not what the video is about.

Either way, this topic should be in the Advice Forum.

Yeah, you should probably keep the intro to 10 or less seconds, and the audio/visuals could use some upgrades.

Honestly, your writing and voice seem like they'd suite a long-form review much better. Something as short as a 30 second review doesn't really have time for jokes, as your goal is to impart as much information as possible in as short a time frame as possible. Your review basically boiled down to "It's a platformer, I think it's good." Which really doesn't give the viewer anything to go off of. If you want to keep a short format you're probably gonna want to speak quicker and cut it down to one or two jokes by the side, otherwise it'll just get bogged down and take too much of your time.

I'd suggest maybe try writing a couple scripts for a longer show so you can really get into WHY you liked the games and what aspects of it might make it worth the viewer checking it out (Or not, if the game sucks). At the very least if a longer show doesn't seem like it will work, you'll have some objective criticisms and information that you can condense into a better short review.

Of course, I am in no way or shape an expert on anything regarding content creation.

That makes sense. I was mostly poking fun, but I always figured the COC was simply against the "Rate, Comment and Subscribe, KTHANXBAI" type posts.
