I'd recommend Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It's easy to pick up and play (which means just button mash.) It's a load of fun, and I think that couples could enjoy it very much.

I played borderlands a lot with my girlfriend. Also, it has splitscreen, which is great.
Yea. My Wife & I have been playing Borderlands 2 and having fun there. We also jump online with another couple we know. It's good goofy fps fun and I don't think OP will find it boring like CoD.

Believe it or not some of the most fun we've had is taking turns playing single player games. I love watching the chaos she causes in GTA. We also watched each other play Fallout 3 like it was a soap opera.

If you both have access to a PC/Laptop then I cannot suggest Magica highly enough, its a co-op RPG esc. game that is easy to learn but has alot of depth. It only costs like £5 on steam and I have had hours of fun with my GF on that. As a bonus, if he pisses you off you can just hit him with lightning bolts until you feel better :p

not to typecast, but a gamer who avidly plays CoD and doesnt appreciate a woman trying to meet him halfway doing what he likes is not going to ever appreciate it. good on you for knowing the mark of a repetitive, boring game though.

borderlands and left for dead are FPSs made for co-op, i know those have been suggested already. strategy games really arent good team games; great multiplayer, but of the much less mutually fun variety (competitive). i have endless fun with portal 2, and definitely look into an MMO, since youre actually trying to further a human relationship with it rather than ignore them all :p

if you want my cold, learned advice though: through all the lonely nerds expressing their love of gamer girls in meme form, gamers really dont make good couples. 2 gamers are too independent, too specific in their tastes, and too at odds when one wants time with the other and they just want to f**king get to the classical era because motherf**king gandhi got there 10 turns ago. it takes 2 gamers with miraculously similar tastes to work, and lets just say the only one ive seen work for an extended period was because he is in the navy and is gone for 6 months at a time, and given what ive seen of my fellow sailors... i REALLY doubt this particular individual was entirely loyal to her.

opposites attract. really: you need someone to balance you out, not someone who makes the same mistakes you do.

Try Magicka. Fun random game which you don't take seriously and is a hell of a lot of fun

Uhm, wow! I didn't expect so many replies! Thanks everyone ^^;! For those who are asking, I do my gaming on my PC, I could never get the hang of controllers :(. We've actually tried a lot of the games suggested! Probably shows you guys have good taste :p. Unfortunately my boyfriend has tried a couple mmos with me, but he doesn't really seem into them either, they tend to take awhile and unfortunately hes busy alot. But I'll definitely be keeping your suggestions in mind! Hopefully the steam summer sale hits soon so we can throw our money at it :p.

Sorry that it took so long to reply, honestly I'm more used to lurking and being mostly ignored when I make a topic, you guys are so nice! :D

Hey!

I am sure you got a lot people suggested their favourite time-waster already, but I see that no one mentioned MGS 4 or Peace Walker which are sort of a compromise between what you and your boyfriend like to play. Both are multi-playable for the most part, stealth-based and include a good deal of heavy action sequences, thus being fun for the whole family, as long as you can get a kick out of (read:ignore) its absolutely ludicrous and overblown plot. Note however, that they are all thrid-person and on the PS3. (Also, Portal 2 gets an honourable mention because of downloadable maps on Steam.)

Of course, if you guys can't find a game to play together, then don't play games together (as in multiplayer), but play them together (as in in the same room). Or just go outside. I'm sure it's a nice day out.
