Looking for group for D&D Online Tabletop

Hey there Escapists! Just found this insane new tabletop tool called Roll20, it's basically a virtual tabletop engine that lets users play whatever RPG they're into. I'm looking for a group of players to play a D&D 3.5 game. Hopefully someone will step up and want to DM as I have never done it before, my schedule is flexible, and will easily accommodate other peoples' busy lifestyles.

A post on here is quite sufficient good sir, just waiting for a discussion to get going to see who's interested. After that's done, I'll set up a discussion board or something to get to know each other and plan our campaign or whatever we decide to do, any questions just ask!

I guess another thing to say was I'm in the EST time zone, and if anyone else was interested, would they be willing to DM and show us how it's done? Just a thought.

Yessssssssssssssssss My last group whom did this online fell apart after schedule troubles. I would be thrilled to join, sadly I'm no good at DMing. So please if we can find one let me know. PST time zone here, and preferably Sundays would be best. For me anyway.

I have a question Ganado, and to anyone who has interest. Would you guys be willing to actually Role Play as your chracter's? Now using my self as an example: I do, I also plan to play a woman. But I'm not gonna do a voice seeing as there's a text chat function on Roll20. So you don't have to do a voice.

I usually don't take it to extremes.
I'll say my "My character asks the shopkeeper in an ominous tone whether or not he knows about the bandits." I'm not much for voicing but skype is a definite asset.

Can you explain how this would work? Do we chat via the game, or do we need to use Skype or something like that?

People are having questions about how this would work, if you guys and gals are interested and you have a minute, scoot on down to Roll20.net and check out there set-up, its' pretty neat.

As for you Not G., yes it would be done on skype or through some form of game chat, I know they have text chat readily available of course.

Well if half of the people in this thread are serious, I'd say we have a nice little group going on. If everyone wants to start with posting your time zone (you can simply edit a previous post if you want), that would be a good start for scheduling purposes. Eventually we can set up a skype group call or something if everyone wants to get the ball rolling.

Oh, and last but not least. We need a Dungeon Master to run the game for us, as I myself have never done it. So if anyone is interested or knows of anyone that could fill the position, contact me through the forum or a private message.

Well my timezone is CST, or GMT -6 if you prefer. But I work nights so my schedule might be comparatively screwy. I'm off Friday and Saturday nights, so those or the following mornings would be best for me, but if my schedule winds up being a pain for everyone else I don't mind bowing out.

And I've only ever played D&D once, and that was as a player, so I'm not entirely confident that I could DM a game.

Alright guys and gals, we've got a bunch of responses which is a good thing, but now I think we should see who's truly interested, if anyone wants to join in on the fun, send me your Skype name and I'll add you and we can discuss getting this thing rolling, still need a DM though, so keep your eyes peeled.

I have a good amount of DM experience; my problem is spare time. If someone wants to step forward and DM I can certainly help out but I don't have the time to make a full campaign.

Well guys and gals, I've got three private messages saying they'd like to play. As of right now, we have:

So that makes 6. I think I'm going to try an improvisational game with me as the Dungeon Master. If you guys would like, go ahead and make a character sheet from the Player's Handbook ONE only for right now. I have little to no DM experience so this will be a trial run, and I think that will be easiest. Sage said he'll be willing to offer help so I may have to take him up on that. I'd like to see the characters before I make up the campaign to better tailor it to you guys, but as of right now that's it.

You can make your sheet with the books if you have them, or you can go here: myth-weavers.com, it's a very handy tool.

Also, I would say leave your alignment open right now, and maybe we can have a discussion on which way we'd like to go. Perhaps we could have a group of righteous heroes, or insatiable villains. Then again we can always do a rag-tag group of wandering neutral nomads too, all up to you guys. I'll let you know when I have a little more information on the campaign, thanks guys.
