Hey Guys. The last day of half term my personal tutor (it's like a teacher who you're supposed to talk to about your problems) dumped me because aparantly i'm depressing and the sessions we have together are "making her depressed", this to me seems rather unfair and kind of upset me concidering I do suffer from depression and am about to go into therapy for it. Anyway needless to say I have another more experienced personal tutor now, however I still have my old personal tutor for ICT. I tried to drop the subject once before but the school wouldn't let me, however I have no idea what i'm meant to be doing for my ICT coursework right now and I don't want to ask her because talking with her is super awkward (especially since my parents complained to the school about what she said to me. I don't really know if this post has a point but since typing it managed to eat up a good ten minutes of this lesson it seemed like it was a good idea. I guess I just needed someone to moan to and these forums are pretty good for doing that.

Anyway you could post a comment or an oppinion or something and i'll enjoy reading any advice you guys can give me. Thanks for reading.

Well... she shouldn't have spoken to you in that way, especially if you suffer from depression.
[Deity] only knows how she does the personal tutoring if she acts like that...
and as for not being able to drop the ICT... I got placed on an 'IT functional skills' course in college, because apparently I am not at a computer enough. Ha. bad joke made by a bunch of ignorant monkeys.
They never could figure anything out...

Try looking to your friends for help on ICT coursework, or ask if you can go see their tutor, I'm sure they won't reject you, if they do then explain your situation. I really hated the supervisor I was allocated for my dissertation, so I searched on the internet and looked for other lecturers at other universities who were experienced on the same subject and emailed them asking for help.

Hey, Well I'm not sure who the personal tutors are, are they like teachers (paid) or are they other students? If it's another student maybe you can talk to her about it. Depression can be pretty bad, but watching funny videos helps.

So here's a cyanide and happiness video that satires this kinda thing. (Dont take it offensively, its meant to be funny!)

Well, since her job seems to be on par with that of a counsellor, she's easily the shittiest counsellor ever if she's complaining about you making her "too depressed". Since when are people's problems suppose to be happy and cheerful? Well, since you're apparently stuck with her, I'd just suggest doing your best to just get through the remaining time you have to see her. Maybe look into getting assigned to another ICT tutor? Considering what she said to you, I don't understand why the school would force you to continue going to her.

Honestly, I don't know much about these "tutors". We don't really have any tutors here that you talk to about your problems, that's what we call counsellors (but I guess we're just weird like that in Canada)

Damn thats harsh. I suffered from depression a one stage of my life and all I can say is hang in there it gets better after awhile.

The hell is ICT? Eh, I've had problems with school teachers before. Not quite the same, but similar. You really just gotta suck it up and talk again. Their opinion doesn't matter, they're a jerk.
It stands for information communication technolgy

Yeah I was depressed through my early high school years but noticed that I was playing very safe and didn't do anything new so I was obviously relying on others to help. So I made myself a rule that if someone suggested to do something I would, if I hesistated about doing something I would just do it. It turned out to be really fun and I accidently landed myself a girlfriend as well. I don't really recommend this but everytime someone insulted me I'd laugh it off and usually agreed with them which made them confused and stop most of the time but it can fuck with your head later on.

As for the teacher I say be the bigger man (or person in this case) and put up with her. There is only awkwardness if you let there be. I reckon the theropy will help and the results will show how bad she was at her job.

Yeah she's a teacher not another student. The thing is I only spoke to her for 40 mins a week and the only problems I talked about were friendship problems. I didn't even mention half the stuff that's wrong with my life plus she never even saw me like super depressed anyway.

Lol. I'm gonna start looking at my depression that way from now on.

OT: If it's about your school work I'd just say get over it. You're not going to this tutor for personal problems anymore so just man up and get the educational help from her. Or get another tutor.
Or just fail the class.
What do I know?

Always got along really well with my teachers. Wasn't an arse-kisser or anything, just talked to them and they talked back. Was always pretty good at hiding my own depression. Only ever came out in appropriate moments.

Maybe you just chose the wrong person to ***** to? Good to hear you're planning on getting help though.
Letting your parents complain before you dropped the other class was a bad idea though.
