I'm looking for a PC RPG where you actually make choices during the game that somehow affect the character or the game world. Good examples being Mass Effect and Dragon Age. JRPG's are fine too as long there is a translation available.

Here's couple games I've played that fit the kind of game I'm trying to look for.
+ Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout, Witcher, Fable, Indigo Prophecy and Vampire: The Masquerade ? Bloodlines.
+ If you can't think of titles fitting above games then sandboxes might be okay too ? Skyrim and Mount & Blade.

I'm not looking for a game where you take role of a character and just corridor-run through the game making only choices how to level up your skills and stats.
- Borderlands, BioShock and Dead Space.

If you're OK with going back a few years, Knights of the Old Republic is a classic. KOTOR 2 is also worth playing, though you've got to be willing to put up with its many flaws and bugs...

Quoted for truth.

If you can't get into the first one, just play the second one. It has a very handy codex to help you out.
Erm... The Witcher is already in OP's "played and liked list" :p

Oh oops.

I would recommend Alpha Protocol then, or KoTOR and KoTOR2.

Forgot about that one completely. I liked KOTOR 2 but for some reason haven't finished the first one yet. Will give it a shot.

What no Deus Ex?
Finished all three, but yes that would be a good example too of what I'm looking for.

Planescape: Torment if you're willing to go for a fairly old game. Still the best story and writing in any game I've played and a wonderfully weird setting.

Quoted: Planescape: Torment's gameplay often focuses on the resolution of quests through dialogue rather than combat, and many of the game's combat encounters can be resolved or avoided through dialogue or stealth.

Well it seems like there is more to the game than just roaming and combat. Might give it a try.

When you say "Witcher", do you mean you played both the games or just one?

If you skipped one of them, what are you doing on these forums. You need to go play that shit right now. Like, seriously.

And when you say "Fable", do you mean the first Fable or all of them? Because Fable III is decent enough too. Not as good as the first, but worth playing.
Played both Witchers. Played all Fables.
I'm waiting for the extra content that is coming to Witcher 2 for another play-through.

Two Worlds?
I remember trying Two Worlds II but it didn't seem that interesting. Do the choices your character makes have any impact on the world or is it more of a general adventuring?

Alpha Protocol.

It's a spy game where literally every choice in the dialogues you make in that game can and will affect things that will happen in the future. Get it. Plus, the voice actor for Mike is extremely entertaining to listen to, it's like he's deliberately trying to be a douche.

Risen.
Gothic II/III (post-patch) are also pretty darn good.

They're pseudo-sandbox - open-world, but everything is placed by hand. They represent a completely different flavor from either your standard Bioware-esque interactive novels or your Bethesda sandboxes.

Plus, there's Risen 2 - piratey goodness - coming out soon.
