Simple title. It's been awhile, and I want to see what the Escapist community is looking forward to in 2016.

Me? Torment: Tides of Numenera. Infinity Engine style, inspired by Planescape Torment (which I JUST got from GoG, tips and advice welcomed), and set in the future fantasy world of Numenera? Absolutely. Sign me up! I just want to explore the bizarre world and see what fascinating things it has to offer.

Persona 5 for me. I played Persona 3 and 4 fairly recently and they both have become two of my most favorite games ever so Im super excited for Persona 5

I've got a few I'm looking forward to, mostly on PC.

XCom 2
Disgaea PC
Torment: Tides of Numenera
Dreamfall Chapters Book 5

[Edit] Forgot about Persona 5, Thanks for the memory jog, Magicite Spring!

There's also a couple of games that are available now (either full retail or early access) that I'm holding off on, either for performance reasons, or to allow further development time.

Just Cause 3
RWBY Grimm Eclipse
Vagante

Dark souls 3 (I might even buy this one at release)
Xcom 2
Dragons Dogma is getting a PC release and I wanted to play that.
Possibly Prey for the Gods. I'm keeping an eye on it because it only has the one trailer. It kinda reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus which I never got to play.
Hellbalde is another one I'm intrigued by but doesn't have enough info at the moment.

Torment: Tides of Numenera I completely forgot about until now for some reason so that to.

Although most of the games I'm looking forward to are games that are next on my list to buy but have been out for ages

I'm looking forward to Space Marine 2 where Titus becomes an Librarian and Smites the fuck out of some Necrons, and Dawn of War 3, where the Blood Raven finally interact with another Space Marine chapter. I'm pushing for either Black Templar or Space Wolves, though Executioners would be fun too!

Also Conker's Bad Fur Day 2 looks good. Love that foul-mouthed squirrel.

Prey for the Gods- Looks like a pretty solid Shadow of the Colossus rip-off. Be nice to play it with a shiny new coat of paint, as a chick, and in a northern environment.

Far Cry: Primal- One of the most original ideas I've seen a while and a setting that is very much overlooked in gaming. I'm really looking forward to this one.

X-Com 2- I'm getting a new gaming PC for this game.

Total War: Warhammer- And for this one as well.

Hyrule Warriors: Legends- Thank the gods I no longer need to buy a full priced console for one game.

Mafia III- We got afros, the 60s, and the Louisiana swamps. I'm in love.

Mass Effect- No matter how much you change or hurt me, I'll always love you.

Mirror's Edge 2.

The original Mirror's Edge is one of those not-so-great games that I still love. Eager to see if they can keep what worked while shaving off all the crap that made the first one something of a misfire. Plus they're rebooting the story entirely which is a plus, no being held down by trying to keep continuity with the half-hearted crap that was the first game's plot.

I'm excited for Uncharted 4 and Dark Souls 3. These I know for a fact I'll have fun with and both are likely a day-one purchase.

Otherwise i'm keeping an eye out for stuff like Mafia 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, ME: Andromeda, Final Fantasy 15, and the PS4 release of Rise of the Tomb Raider. I'm hoping these'll all turn out to be good and i'll probably get most, if not all of them, a fair while after release depending on feedback.

There's quite a lot of stuff to look forward to in 2016. What I'm most looking forward to is letting my PS4 get a proper workout 'cause apart from Bloodborne and Dragon Age: Inquisition that thing's mainly been gathering dust since february.

Mirror's Edge 2, and anything that Platinum might release next year - Scalebound, Nier, etc.

I hate this kind of Threads, because I have a List with 1000+ games I want to play in the future and I know I don't have time....
I literally hate and love my life.
Lists is my fetish.

Meh. I'm just not seeing that big, revolutionary game. I see too many bad habits and more of the same. I have a list of games I might play, but I'm not excited for any of them. That list has gotten much smaller since I recently decided never too buy another console. I'm barely playing games lately. I wish this industry crashed hard.
Do you want to suggest you some games for you?
I already know you love the Dark/Demon Souls games.
Or do you prefer to find you something more specific?

What I'm looking forward to mostly is games going down in price so I can afford them haha.

But in terms of actual releases, I'm curious to see how Doom 4 turns out and how Unreal Tournament 4 plays when it is officially "released".

In a more general sense though I'm looking forward to more games like Undertale that really have fun with the player rather than merely provide entertainment for them.

The only title I'm looking forward to in 2016 is Deus Ex. It's been a good end to 2015, with Halo 5, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront and Rainbow Six Siege all landing in the same month, but 2016 is looking pretty sparse as far as I'm concerned. I was really looking forward to Xcom 2, especially given how much time I sank into Enemy Unknown/Within, but since Firaxis have declared it's going to be a PC exclusive it has, unfortunately, been taken off my radar.

So realistically my gaming for 2016 will be one new game and various DLC packs for 2015 titles.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a superb strategy game in its own right, as well as an excellent case study in recreating the feel of a previous work without simply recreating it whole cloth. Naturally, it was far from perfect, but everything I've heard about XCOM 2 seems to be addressing the problems of the first game. The facts that it's a PC exclusive and been delayed to February don't bother me, either, since I own a PC and believe that focusing on a single platform and spending longer on it would allow them to make the best game possible.

I'm also interested in Yakuza 5 and Persona 5 as soon as those come out.

Torment: Tides of Numenera and Night in the Woods. The latter reminds me of Undertale, and the teaser game (Lost Constellation) was well-written.

Mainly No Man's Sky now, but I'm slowly starting to fear that my PC might not be able to handle it.

The same counts for Mafia 3, but for that game I'm a little bit more sure that my PC won't be sufficient. That's mostly it. I might look at Far Cry: Primal when that comes along, if again my PC can handle that. And if not, well, there's a ton of indie hipster bullshit games I can play instead.

Not much, honestly.

It used to be the new Ratchet and Clank, but then my enthusiasm for that somehow petered out a bit. I'm still going to pick up it and Uncharted 4, along with the new Dark Souls and whatever Bioware has in store, but to say I'm actively looking forward to them... nah.
