Lord of the Rings: War in the North.

Greetings Escapist,

I just stumbled upon this video (linked below) and it's rekindled my excitement for the soon to be released, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, despite not featuring a large amount of actual gameplay footage. The video has also prompted me to post my first topic on The Escapist forums since I figured that there's no better opportunity than to share a video of an upcoming Lord of the Rings game and to ask some questions relating to other LotR based video games.

So, what do you think of the upcoming Lord of the Rings game? Are you purchasing it or have you pre-ordered it already? And, what's your favourite Lord of the Rings game released thus far?

I haven't heard anything about it. I wont be purchasing it. My favourite LotR game was the one with the guy and the sword guy with the spider and dead people.

OT: since i have actually never played a LotR game ever , i might pick this up to see what all the comotiong was about . I could never get into the books ( omfg so boring , so many words that mean nothing ) nor the movies ( rare movies that make me fall sleep ). But i like the video game medium more than the book or movie medium , so i might as well give this a try. I mean unlease LotR is the new Star Wars and they are trying to milk the cow till it bleeds, it can't be that bad as a series right?

Edit: just watched the video , the game looks interesting enough, but the guys that talk are just trying to sell the product and say all kind of nonsense.

I've seen some things about it, but it doesn't seem so good, that I can't wait to see how turns out.
I'll watch some actual gameplay, and maybe after a few moths, I'll but it.

I'll be too busy with Skyrim but I'm sure I'll pick this up at a later date.
In regards to the best LOTR game I've played, the Return of the King game was pretty fucking good. Especially co op.

Doesn't look promising, to be honest. I'm not quite sure why, but it looks far too... bleh.

it looks fun, and a new look at parts of middle earth which were rarely spoken about in detail. there have been some fun LOTR games, and some crap ones, Battle for Middle Earth was fun i hope this will be too.
