Most of the time I find youtube to be okay, I only had one problem where a user nicked one of my videos and claimed she made it and got a very consise response of "F*** You" when I asked her to take it down, luckly she had nicked other people's videos as well. Youtube didn't want to do a thing about it when we asked, so all the people whose videos she stole us and our subscribers (I don't have that many subscribers but one or two people she'd ripped of had a few hundred) just kept posting "why do you steal other peoples videos?" on every video until she closed the account. Apart from that I found its been okay but I genrally ignore any joke videos or nasty comments because as Yatzee said "Pay them no attention as just like a small child putting the cat in a tumble dryer thats exaculy what they want".

I never had any faith. It's the same problem as 4chan, where people post just to annoy others or troll. Best to not take ANY comments you see on Youtube seriously. A lot of these people have to be posting flamebait on purpose, because there can't possibly be this many racist conspiracy theorist retards (I mean that last word quite literally, don't flame me for its use) on the face of the planet.

Or maybe there are. And now I'm losing faith in humanity in general.

I've seen some interesting, well thought conversations on youtube. They last for at least two comments and then devolve into telling each other they had sex with their mothers in various condescending ways.

Seriously, even smart people can get turned to mush. I love all the "experts" on there, though. When they actually knew the guy that shot Kennedy or stuff like that. I think my favorites, however, are the guys that talk crap about how stupid someone is and yet can't form a decent sentence or even try to spell for thier life.

"u r so stoopid, ur gay, lolololz roxors, i Wpwn U. U shud lern 2 spel"

the only videos free of foul mouthed idiots are ones involving classical music, as i recently found out.

I haven't lost complete faith in the community, but I have lost faith in the "This is a popular video, but it is bad because of a very small copyright infringement" crowd. There are some videos that are great but because they played 2 songs on it, it seems, the didn't delete the video, but they took off all sound.

The majority of Youtube videos are crap, and the "community" is worse. I make videos for Youtube and get my share of bad comments (which I usually remove). Since YT is one of the most popular sites on the internet then you get a lot of idiots on it.

I have been a member of youtube for a while, I've got a few videos, and I watch a few. I have never once subscribed. My favorites contain everything I figure I'll want to watch again.

Luckily, even though I do comment on alot of videos, I have only had a few negative comments on mine. Being unpopular can have it's upsides.

I reckon that unless people actually know about something and can state proper facts, they should shut the fuck up and stay shut the fuck up. Unfortunately the rest of the world seems to disagree!

I lost faith in the human race years ago. If I had my way, I'd have a large percentage of the people on this planet executed and their corpses blasted into space!

Shit, I just realised that all this hatred is infectious!

i never had faith in the yt community. but it is fun to put a d bag in their place if they mess with me. you know are rightfully owning when 10 + people you don't even know are backing you up on a subject of discussion. this really fun to put a fanboy/girl or troll in their place.

Youtube never had any of my faith for me to lose.

There are good and bad people on youtube; it's just that one group outnumber the other and are more noticeable.

I think it all went downhill when Google bought Youtube. Or maybe I just wasn't paying attention before that, I don't know. All they need to do is hire some good staff to moderate the site, they are Google for crying out loud, sure they have the money.

I think that cartoon posted beforehand sums Youtube up pretty well. I also think "FAKE" would be a good way to reference it. I think there are people that watch youtube and believe every video is a photomanipulation of some sort.

Bah.. Youtube has always been full of twats and haters. It's only vids with specialised audiences that have intelligent comments. I watch a free-speech activist called Pat Condell who criticises religion alot.. you should see some of the comments he gets.

Just use youtube for the vids.. anything like that, 1 star it, move on.

It is the internet and it is popular.
Seriously, what did you expect?
A shining beacon of intelligence?
A bearable place to watch decent clips?

Sorry to dissapoint you, but the only place you will find that fills both of those requirements that I have found is the Escapist.

Here's a fun game: Try and post a comment on youtube so ridiculous/out-there that nobody takes it seriously.

(Not my idea but I don't know where I got it.)
