yesterday, i picked up The Lost Children from Disturbed and Gold Cobra from Limp Bizkit, and because i can!!! here's my 2 cents on both

The Lost Children is a collection of B-sides and other wise hard to find tracks topping off at 16 songs and least one based on a real world event ( 3, yes the events in that song really happened, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Memphis_Three ), and even has a Kiss remake.

so how is it? if i didn't know it was B-sides and such going in, i wouldn't even know, the older tacks like Dehumanized and God of the Mind flow good with the newer tracks like Hell and This Moment with the weakest tracks (Midlife Crisis and Living After Midnight) taking the last to slots.

which brings me to the remake, now, Disturbed if anything handles their remakes very well, and none of them are bad, but ...... Living After Midnight is definitely the 'worst' of the lot, it just dose not feel right coming from them, not that anything Kiss has ever done would fit anyone else anyway.

all in all though its a good CD
favorite track: Hell

now on to Gold Cobra. you might be surprised to hear, it actually doesn't suck, shocking i know, after the very aptly titled Results May Very and the god fucking awful Unquestionable Truth, but they seem to have gotten their shit together for this one,and Wes Borland is back in the band. so expect weird shit from him in the videos

its not with out its flaws though, Bring it Back, Get a Life and Walking Away hold it back while Gold Cobra and Douche Bag just kinda sit there, being not as good as the could be while Shark Attack, Why Try, Killer in You, Autotunage, Shotgun and 90.2.10 stand out and make up for some of the other, weaker tracks.

not much else to say, its a lot better then i was expecting from them given how much the last 2 sucked.

favorite track: Why Try

so ... which did i think was better?

The Lost Children, duh.

Gold Cobra was a surprise to be sure, and its a good CD, but i had to check it out on Youtube before even considering buying it, given the prior failings Limp Bizkit had, also, there's more 'weak' tracks on Gold Cobra then The Lost Children, which is 14 straight tracks of good music before getting to the weak ones.

edit: found the link i was talking about
