If i were you, since your 18, buy alcohol and have some friends round, have lots of fun. Obviously apply a little bit of common sense and don't have an entire army of randomers turning up on your doorstep, but with a dozen or so friends you could have a pretty cool party.

Also, have sleepovers, and stay up as late as you like and watch films and play music.

Be imaginative!

Edit: scrap that, apparantly your a Brit in New York- just do the sleepover, unless you happen to be friends with a 21 year old.

Well...I have lived alone for two years, but then again I'm a bit more older than most of you guys.

I grew out of the Macaulay Culkin style in about a month or so of moving in, now it just seems normal.

If I was home alone I would...do nothing different, maybe play my music louder.

Maybe get all my friends round for a gaming marathon.

I tend to live by myself 75% of the time, tbh;

both my parents live and work in Middle-Eastern countries, so I've got the place to myself pretty much all the time.

This week, for example, I'll be a-throwin' one of my (locally) famous hot tub parties, which our good friend Nudity tends to frequent. :D

Apart from that, I'm usually rather insular about it. Though nobody in does tend to make it less of a hastle staggering up the stairs singing "Rammstein" at 3:30 in the morning after a night at the pub! :p
Ok what with me living in yorkshire i have to ask... how the fuck do you have hot tub parties in this area i've never seen a hot tub around hear what with people being too worried that their head will freeze while their balls boil.

Very little differently than when my parents are around. Only difference is I tend to get up earlier.

Well.... There are (I think) at least 3 people down our street with hot tubs. Another couple of mates a couple of towns along I have own some as well.

And hell, you've felt the weather at the moment right? :p

But they're great when it's cold. Just sink right down so only your head is out. Hot, steamy and sitting amongst all the snow and ice. :D :D :D
Like being in Norway or something. ;)

Play loud music.

Sing to myself.

Talk to myself.

Hooking up my PS3 to the big TV.

Cook food.

Bring friends over (though i do that anyway, we just have to stay in my basement cave).

Also, randomly shout to see if someone has broken into my house.

I like being home alone.

A Hermit's Cave
Depends who else is around at the time (I'm talking about up to and including when I was 22, when I moved out).

I mostly just invite a couple friends around for gaming or a small LAN party. Other than that, cook, read, (sort of) work out, make my knuckles bleed, basically what I usually did when the folks were at home, only more of it.

I'm alone quite a lot, and the most rebellious thing I ever do is make pancakes.

Fucking hardcore.
You are a hero amongst men!

OT: I have to use my time wisely when my parents are gone for that does not happen a lot. So I have friends over and we game... a lot. Once, we burned through the first Mass Effect clocking in at around 30 hours or so.

You are a rather lucky person, although im gonna assume you live in a somewhat nicer area of yorkshire that i for that to be possible if someone tried to have a hot tub in maltby you would wake up to find someone had shit in it.

I had this once at 18, didn't end too well. Had friends over all the time, lots of drinking house a mess, which was to be expected, what wasn't expected was my mum coming home a day early before I got my chance to do my tidy binge. There was lots of shouting.

Due to my couple of days off work , I'm presently in my flat, watching QI, drinking a cup of coffee, smoking, and repeatedly writing out the arabic alphabet as the overture to my learning the language.

Later on today, I'll make a pasta bake, play Fallout 2, listen to the Dave Brubeck Quartet, and drink a cheapish bottle of red wine.

I'm glad I live where I do, then! :D

(It's a small town called Pocklington; just outside York proper about 10 miles.)

Here's the kind of thing that often happens in between being on the computer:

*walks to the kitchen while eyeing the street*

*jump jump jump*

*loosely flops onto the leather couch from behind and slides down*

*plays the cheap and horrendously out of tune piano or guitar (yay I can use the amp) vigorously and unskillfully*

*[insert other hyperactive outburst]*

It's not all the time, it probably just makes up for the time I spend sitting around.

I would listen to music out loud but these laptop speakers aren't good enough to bother and I'd do other stuff too but I rarely know exactly when someone will be coming home.

I would work on my secret evil underground nazi deathray ion cannon lazer moonbase.

Pretty much everyone else is going to drink, stay up late, invite friend over, order takeaway, and hook their gaming machines up to the big TV. Not that I'm not going to do any of that (besides drink), it is just that I have priorities.
