I've tried this thread before but because I'm curious escapists I try again. What is that game you love to hate that you play anyway? The game you make fun of or play then get aggravated at, quit, then start back up a little bit later?

I have FF8, can't stand this game one bit but I still play.

Eh...maybe GTA4. For a game I hate as much as I do, I've put a lot of time into it. I haven't gotten far, but I've started and quit and restarted like four times. It's like, I want to like it, I just...can't.

Gotta be pokemon. The random chance of things can totally screw over the game, especially wifi battles. But i'm still constantly playing it...

Street Fighter, my answer for everything on this site. It makes me sweaty and aggravated, but I'm completely in love with the series since the dawn of time. Like, complete childish anger too. I almost embarrass myself sometimes asking the TV things like "OH, WAS THAT REALLY FAIR?!". Just ..uh.

Battlefield 2 and Modern Warfare 2 earn this prize.

Battlefield 2 is a great concept, emphasizing team-work, co-operative objectives, and tactic-based game-play as you push from one key position to the next. Pathetic weapons, accuracy issues, bugs, and a player-base consisting mostly of assholes and prepubescent twats ruin the experience every time though.

Modern Warfare 2 I just...lothe. Me and a friend enjoy breaking the game on weekends by playing it in the most hilarious of ways in Spec-Ops, which is about the most enjoyable part of it. Single player story is terrible, multi-player is filled with jerks, but worst of all:
- No dedicated servers, so no community base
- No community base, less social interaction with people you might actually -want- to play with
- No Mod support
- No Custom Map support
- Price as much as a console game, for less content than CoD4--and extra 10 USD for an extra 10 minutes of suffering

But most of all, Modern Warfare 2 isn't all that modern. When I see half the players in the game running around spraying bullets from machine pistols akimbo, or running around with two late 18th century shotguns, and them actually being rewarded for it...nope, that's when I close the game.

Huh. Carried on a fair bit, sorry. In short, Battlefield 2 (damn you EA Games!) and Modern Warfare 2 (damn you, Infinity Ward!)

its so boring!

Super Street Fighter IV. Every time I see a Ken or a Ryu I think to myself "heeeeere we go again". Which happens in 90% of the fights.

Yet I keep going back for the 10% of the fights that are actually fun.

I have a very rocky relation with Hearts of Iron 3. A slightly less serious one would be TF2, which can make me rage indefinitely...But it is just so damn playable.

Lock's Quest. It's not that well done for a Tower Defence. But it's the only one I have on the DS.

The story is both predictable and compelling at the same time. I can't really describe how! o_O

Currently Pro Evo 2009. The controls and camera are awful. But I still play it a lot and I'm not even sure if I enjoy it. MW2 too, obviously. Oh! And Spartan: Total Warrior.
