So my fellow escapees do you think it's possible to fall in love with someone on the internet? Or fancy someone? Or do you think it's all down to lust?

Any romance stories out there? :)

Its quite possible, just don't come running to me when you get to play 'hide the hotdog' with a 3 times murder convict.

It can happen. I know a couple of people who have found it and successfully.

I strike out on the internet just like everywhere, so I'm probably a bad example.

Considering my mother and step-dad first met via the wonders of the internet, and their marriage has been going strong for a good 5 years, I'd say yes, it is entirely possible.

Nope, nah, sometimes and not from me. I can't really see how it would work. You would really need to see the person and communicate face to face to make anything real happen. What happens if the girl you've been talking to for all these months turns out to be Mrs. Mustachio! Or she could even be old, creepy and a man!!!

A friend of mine met her boyfriend on a forum. They meet twice a year now.
As a side note how can you have a boyfriend you only meet up with twice a year. I mean, I'd probably forget what they looked like after that time.

I know know it is more than possible for love to bloom on the internet.
And then it can continue on in real life, as the people involved can meet.

Well, of course.

I know that person only through the internet, yet it's the single most important life-form on this planet. At least to me that is. If you want to know my story, feel free to pm me or something, and I'll answer sooner or later. (would write it now if it wasn't because it's late and I have to get up early tomorrow xD)

Man, your username makes me think of my brother.

Anyway, I guess anything's possible. That people who know each other in real life could fall in love is absurd to me. Why the hell not over the internet.
I mean, I kind of sort of have a thing with a person I know over the internet. I don't expect or really want it to blossom into anything any time soon, but still. It's there, I guess.

I find the whole idea that love and lust are one and the same to be quite ridiculous. Asexual people fall in love all the damn time.
You don't have to be attracted to a person sexually to be attracted to them romantically. Just think of all the people who claim personality and brains are important. Not all of them are full of shit.
Most of them are, sure, but not all of them.

yes you can fall in love with somebody over the internet but the problem with that is you fell in love through the internet, a place where people lie about everything so why cant they lie about their hobbies and the music they listen to? you can easily fall in love with somebody over the internet due to the fact that a great deal of people pretend to be who they want to be rather than acting like themselves. you may just fall in love with a persona rather than the real person

I think it's possible, but it rarely works out.

I thought I loved someone and it turned out they used a false image of themselves. Turned out she was massively obese and incredibly unstable in the head if I do say so myself. Not a day goes by I don't regret it.

So the point is...don't trust people so fast or you're probably gonna get fucked over.
