So, looking out apon the sea of bile and hate I have to ask this simple question..

What do you love about games? Characters, gameplay additions, etc, just random things you like in a game. It doesn't even have to be the thing you love the most, just what you want to express your love for at this moment.


I love Johnny Gat, he's a fucking hilarious psychopath, and during the cutscene of the Ronin Mission, Requiem, I couldn't help but wish that HE was my playable character.

I love games that give me the choice of my main character instead of trying to push one on me.

The only quality I care about in a game is immersion.

I really expected this thread to be something someone who recently got into a relationship had put up to express how in love they were.

Uh, on a more direct note, i really love to be able to customize my main character, and to really feel for all the characters.
So much so, that when one dies, part of you dies along with it.

Immersion, of course, as Pi mentioned, and I'm quite fond of teeny tiny details, easter eggs and references. Like the scriblings in the safe houses in Left 4 Dead etc.

Love for me comes from gameplay, fun and fond memories of fun times with the games. While immersion and characterisation, presentation and good stories and dialoug help back this up.

But of course true love for me is in the form of the love of a good woman.

Good characters. Nothing helps me get truly immersed in a game more than likeable characters who I care about for reasons other than additional firepower.
