Disappointing email from Lovefilm today, they are switching from Flash streaming of films to Silverlight so that DRM can be enforced more effectively. This means NO MORE LINUX SUPPORT or even any non-intel Macs. So...anyone paying for a Lovefilm subscription running Ubuntu or any one of the million other distros can wave goodbye to streaming :(

Moonlight offers Linux support for Silverlight, if that's a concern.

Of course, if it becomes genuinely impossible to legitimately stream films because of retarded DRM, you still shouldn't pirate them.

Hadn't heard of Moonlight, ta very much. I agree, wasnt advocating circumvention of the DRM just that it is a bit of a downer to lock out a not-insignificant portion of your userbase because of publisher demands

Hmmm, ok. Guess I'll have to install Silverlight. I have absolutely no experience with it...

I have a 3 disc subscription, I rarely find time to use the streaming.
