I'm not because I don't have a Wii :'( ...

I really hope they release a great DS Zelda game though at some point, I was slightly disappointed by Phantom Hourglass. Not a bad game, just not one that kept me playing for hours like Link's Awakening or Wind Waker did.
Well.... Spirit Tracks was announced for the DS....

OT, it will end with you killing Gannondorf/Gannon and saving Zelda, but the story between point A and point B will be different and captivating as ever.

This is the first released photo of the rumored Legend of Zelda wii game, i think it looks promising, the bright ghostly entitys calm composed face a powerful juxtaposition to the pained expression of link

What do you think?
I think the ghost represents the goddess nayru protecting link from the fires of his own hubris
Some say that ghost thing is actually a personification of the Master Sword, but nothing is final.
That has been my guess. Oh, he's holding his shield but where the fuck's his sword? Oh tht's right BAM!

Meh personally Zelda stopped impressing me after Ocarina of Time, but I have faith that another great one will come.
I'm sorry, but how could you not be impressed by Twilight Princess? Even if you didn't have much fun with it, it is a solid game, even if it was graphically last-gen.
Well partially it boils down to personal taste, and partially due to the fact that it hardly changed since Ocarina of Time.

then why was Majora's mask one of the best? (i think) it was what made zelda great + interesting story.
Sales wise it's actually one of the worst, it might be the worst proper Nintendo Zelda. Which is probably why the games since have all followed such a similar pattern to Ocarina, they got a bit burned with Majora's.

Which is a massive shame because it was brilliant.

Unfortunately that's true :( MM is my favourite Zelda game ever. 'Only' selling around 3 million copies. Which isn't much, for a Zelda game.

Anyway, Miyamoto has already said that the new Zelda game won't be radically different, which means it'll follow the usual formula (which is alright, as long as there's something new in there).

If they force you to use the Wiimote I won't buy it.

I use the Gamecube controller on any game I can.

Really? I thought it was one of the worst.

Fair enough, the plot is different, but the entire thing is an almost blatant copy of Hyrule (as in NCPs and such). And please don't give me the alternate world crap. To me it was disappointing.

haha. no i won't give you the 'alternate world crap'. in fact... doesn't the opening sequence of the game throw that out the window? it TELLS you that link went on an adventure to find someone he lost... or some such. anyways. i think they copied all of the character skins because they didn't want to waste time re-making them all. which probably shaved months off of the development time. i don't remember how long it took them to release the game after OOT but sooner is always better... even if they just cut and paste some of the objects or character skins in the world... at least thats what i think. i didn't mind recognizing characters so long as they use them to create something original.

On topic; a new LoZ game? Nice. But

There is a lot of speculation that the aforementioned "Ghost" is a zora. I would not be surprised one bit if this were true.

I haven't liked a Zelda game till the Twilight Princess and I'm not even big on that game. I'm more of a Metroid kinda guy.

Kind of off-topic, but if the master sword is able to do that, then why is there almost always a stronger sword in zelda games? Case in point: Link to the Past. You get the master sword and sarahashaharlahrla goes absolutely apeshit about your accomplishment. A few dungeons later and you hire some run-of-the-mill swordsmiths to temper your sword into a new one. A few more dungeons later and you just throw the sword into a well to get an ever better sword handed out by some fatass fearie. A magical being that can make a better sword than the master sword by dunking it into some water, yet she doesn't think to apply the same logic and drown herself in the water to become somewhat presentable?

Kinda OT: I look forward to a game where the master sword truly lives up to its name and trounces all the other blades in the land.
The master sword isn't the greatest sword in the land, but it's the sword that's made to destroy the evil, which is why you usually have to use it during the final boss fight.

My memory is probably fuzzy, but other than the first Zelda, I can't think of a game that explicitly requires you to use the master sword during the final boss fight. Maybe OoT, but I can't remember.

Ocarina of Time does, and while neither Wind Waker and Twilight Princess actually come out and say it, you have nothing else to use on Ganondorf in those games. In both cases he blocks, dodges or simply ignores anything else you can throw at him. There's no Master Sword in Majora's Mask or Phantom Hourglass, Minish Cap requires you to use virtually every item in your inventory and I can't remember what happens in any of the other games. Not that any of those games I just mentioned even feature Ganondorf.

I'm not even going to speculate on this next game. I'm going to wait until Nintendo stop teasing us with disjointed snippets in order to raise hype (Something I've noticed a lot of game developers seem to do nowadays, and I for one find it infuriating) and actually give us some concrete information. Then I'm going to get excited. Then, when it comes out, I'm going to buy it and enjoy the hell out of it, because it's Zelda, so I know it'll be good.

1) the silver girl looks identical to the queen of fairies from wind waker.

2) wind waker was my favorite, and link was trying to save his sister for half the game

3)its zelda, no matter what its bound to be great.

Its to early to tell much about the game from one picture other than that its a Zelda game... which is a pretty sure sign that its gonna be good.

Has anybody ever considered the possibility that this could happen again in the new Zelda?

I mean, this could be a new angle for Zelda. The Master Sword here looks like a young fairy, but what if ALL swords become like this? The beginner/crappy sword is represented by a kid that's as annoying as Navi, and the sword that's better in every way is represented by a butch woman who can throw an octorok across three miles.

Oh, how confusing combat would be if that was the case. @+@

I wouldn't necessarily say they got burned. After that they made Wind Waker, then the fans bitched, then they got burned somewhat. Then they made twilight Princess as a sort of spiritual sequel to OoT, and people who don't even play the series and critics bitched. They were damned from the start.

Anyway, I'm still going for the sword. He'll never have a game without a weapon, a bladed weapon in fact. If they did...hmmm.
