Hey guys, the other day, my friend told me about lucid dreams, but didn't really get into it. I just know the basics, but what is it like?

what do you mean by a "lucid dream," like one where you know you are dreaming, or one where you are in control of yourself?

Pretty much when you know you're dreaming, or at least partially know.
That is what lucid dreaming is, right?
[sub][sub]Should of just linked wiki[/sub][/sub]

It can be fun when you start making things pop up to kill.

I'm pretty sure it's a dream where you know you're dreaming, hence why it's called "Lucid" dreaming.
You can supposedly control your dream in this state, but I don't think I've never experienced one, so I wouldn't know...

[user]HT_Black[/user] supposedly knows a lot about interpreting dreams and dreams in general. I would ask him.

Thank you sir, for making me laugh too loud for 4:30 am.

I believe the lucid dream is when you are aware that your in a dream. They can essentially feel real, i like to imagine it as just one day discovering a holodeck (the dirty nerd i am).

The more i read up about it, the more i want a hyper real feeling lucid dream, with tricia helfer.

It feels like a faded, washed-out version of day-to-day life. Until you start flying, or whatever.

At least, it does to me...

Google (Well the Wiki it brought up) says that it is when one is aware that one is dreaming.

Oh, yeah, One time I had a dream that I was going to school despite the fact that it was bombed to a pile of rubble. My friend Tommy was explaining why our school had decided not to have a "rubble day" even when all the other schools in the city were. I thought to myself, this is too rediculous to be real. I then flew up into the sky, up through what felt like water, and woke up.

wierd thing is that I knew exactly what i had to do to wake up

Check out the forum I used to go to, http://www.dreamviews.com. It's on there somewhere. The main site sucks, but the forums have a ton of tutorials on how to get them. It never really worked for me, but I stopped trying after a while.

I've totally had one before. I had a DILD, where i was normal dreaming, then i figured out i was dreaming. It was trippy, because i could...

...see...
...twice...
...and, feel...
...
...overlapping world...
...kinda...
...and...
...shark.

I. Don't. Know. How. To explain, its all to... bizarre. But it was awesome.

I had one where I was playing in a band at my school talent show and i'd play any music in my head no matter what my hands were doing. (That came out worse than intended.)

I also tend to have lucid dreams in which I can jump really, really high. Like seven-story buildings high.

Most of my dreams are lucid in nature. I always remember being In control of myself in a dream and about half of the time I'll become self-aware...

It's an awesome experience if you can handle it. The hardest part is remaining in that dream once you have established that you are 'awake'. You can manifest things by willing them into existence, be it an object, a person or a scenario. but if you concentrate too hard, you wake up...

Dreams are awesome...
