Never to such a ludicrous extent. I've been a member of XBL for many, many years and I've never had my security compromised. Aside from security risks, you HAVE TO acknowledge the accessibility of the 360 over the PS3. My friends and I all have both and we never, ever play the PS3 online. Its interface is far too annoying and lacks a proper lobbying system. 360's Party system is the best thing to ever happen to console online gaming. And don't even try to pretend Nintendo's online system is worth noting. That friend code stuff is a joke and barely passable as a means of playing with your friends.Kopikatsu said:XBL has been hacked many, many times. I call Microsoft the assholes of the gaming industry because nothing is free for them. Play with people online? Subscription fees!
More than that, they don't allow free updates/patches. Either the customer has to pay for them (obvious), or they force the developer to pay for them. (Assassin Creed: Brotherhood's first two mappacks (I think))
Edit: Also, they don't allow anything to be off their network...which is one of the reasons why Dust 514 is PS3 exclusive.
Dude, that was awesome!! I honestly never thought someone could link Mass Effect 2, Lulzboat, Porn and passwords like that. Sorry couldn't help myself.
Indeed, not to sound crass but what I imagine most people tend to do is, find a site, put on a vid, do their business and leave. Unless you get some exclusive porn when you sign up but... Just go without and find a free vid, there's plenty out there and you don't need to leave your details to do it.ZeroG131 said:That's what I was about to ask. I mean really, the only reason anyone would do that is to either favorite those videos or leave comments...which is pretty fucking stupid and pointless if you ask me. It's PORN! What are you gonna say without seeming like the creepiest person on the planet?Sovvolf said:People sign up to porn sites? I thought you could watch porn these days by just clicking on the appropriated site and finding which vid looks the best to you. Why on earth would you sign up to one? specially with an address that can lead back to you?
Obviously on the scale of the PSN hack, too. amirite?Kopikatsu said:XBL has been hacked many, many times. I've actually posted a few links to that effect yesterday.
I don't have to acknowledge nothin'. I had XBL and it was shitty. Actually, I really like PSN's interface and thought XBL had the shittiest interface this side of Pluto.ilovemyLunchbox said:Never to such a ludicrous extent. Also, XBL is super cheap. A year's subscription on its own is what, $60? If you use promotional deals, you get things like two years and 1600 points for $84 like I did. That's $3.50 a month and $20 worth of free online content. Seriously, if you can't afford that, you should not be playing video games in the first place.
Actually, FB is one of the easiest site to 'hack', especially if you use the regular HTTP connection over unencrypted wifi. But what do I know, I just listen to SecurityNOW on TWIT.TV.PSteve5513 said:Bad News. This happened to me.
What could you possibly have found shitty about XBL's service?! You can get in a party with your friends at any time, invite your friends to your ingame party, join your friends in the games they're playing, easy access to muting and unmuting anyone you like... I can't think of anything wrong with it. You can't just reply with NUH-UH as a rebuttal. Also, notice I said console. Steam is awesome.Kopikatsu said:I don't have to acknowledge nothin'. XBL has shitty customer service too, and I've never had a problem with Sony's. I canceled my XBL account and only use the PSN now. Nintendo has a worse setup than the PSN, but still superior to XBL. To add to that list, what about Valve? They don't charge a fee either.
Face it. There is a difference between wanting to make a profit and wanting Scrooge McDuck-levels of money.
Ahem, when you bring Nintendo into this, I would like to point out that the previous comment was correct. The online services are TERRIBLE...seriously, I hit a guy and it takes 5 seconds for it to register. Xbox get hacked, yes, but not on a massive scale, losing billions of peoples data. Xbox's security is top notch because Microsoft deal primarily with computers and software. Nintendo don't need peoples data to connect and thus aren't screwed when hacked. Sony effed up and anyone who doesn't recognise that is just ignorant of the world around them...Kopikatsu said:XBL has been hacked many, many times.
