The real hack is usually covered by the DDoS, which serves as a distraction. Or it's launched to force a server reboot to cover your tracks.

Now they have gone too far!!! Lulzsec must be destroyed!!
It's kinda funny that after the PSN outage a lot people looked at lulzsec as fighters for justice and some bull (primarily everyone that didn't own a PS3) but now that they are branching out everyone views them as criminals. Which they are and always were.

The Minecraft one baffled me tbh. Mojang really don't strike me as in fitting with the other LulzSec targets, especially since he's (Notch) been ripping DLC and sticking up for pirates quite a lot lately.

Silence and thread locking, or so I hear.
They can't even be bothered to make a statement when they cancel one of their own series, do you think that they will take the time to reassure their community about a hacking attempt? Hardly. Silence is what you can expect from The Escapist, tbh.

I think the real truth, the real fact we will all soon learn, is that you learn more about a Hacker group based on who they do NOT hack, then on who they DO hack.

Here's the article ...

Not sure if you guys noticed but the escapist was experiencing network issues yesterday and guess who seems to be responsible for it.

Seems Escapist is back but I wonder if anything was compromised if they did indeed attack the Escapist. Only time will tell I suppose.

EDIT : Sombody has just already posted this

So thats why the escapist was down. Well now some heads are gonna roll.
Seriously though is anyone else bored of them doing this now? Though I wasn't really impressed to begin with.

People are gonna start getting pissed. Especially the members of escapist. Can some computer hacker out there tell us if theres anything we can do to bring them down? Lend our bandwidth to attacked sites or something?

I'm quite irritated by this, myself. The Escapist is an innocent site - my impression is that Lulzsec only attacked the site because the forums were filled with people expressing anger towards them. In other words, they're attempting to stifle freedom of expression. And it might just be working. Can Anonymous please just fuck Lulzsec up? Anonymous stands for freedom, and Lulzsec seems to be doing everything it can to suppress said freedom.

yeah, escapist kinda seems like a low blow. Aparently the forum had people whining and complaining about them when they shut down bethsheba. Weird though that they attacked gaming servers and escapist.... i mean i understand sony, nintendo, and bethsheba (those are actual huge corporations). But minecraft? eve? league of legends?

but i guess it doesn't really matter why... they just do it for the lolz
