First of all, my shitty WINDOWS computer fucked up( wish i had a mac now) and secondly, no i don't, but i know plenty of professionals who have worked in various studios for years, most of which will be running a mac pro setup, either with pro tools or logic software.
And I know plenty of professionals who have worked in various studios for years who prefer Windows and Windows DAWs over Logic or Pro Tools.

You are way out of your league right now.
Seriously man, don't even start with Eggo. It's unwise.

Its probalby a safe bet that every professionsl/commercial/popular recording in hte past 10 years has been mads with pro tools. Micheal Jackson has used it since the early 90's, Axl Rose made Chinese Democracy on it, Metallica were seen using it in 'some kinda monster', Trivium used it on their new album,.. the list is endless.
Your the one out of your league im afraid

I hate the commercials but there's only one thing worse: the people like them and then further believe the garbage in them. My parents and my sister are classic examples. (I don't hate them, I just hate their Mac-loving)

I really don't have a problem with Macs, even though I prefer PC. I ask, "Why do you want a Mac instead of a PC?"
"I just want a Mac."
"No, wait, I asked why."
"I just do."
"But... there's gotta be a reason. I mean, you've used Windows all your life. Yeah, Macs have advantages but I just wanna know your reasoning behind it."
"I just do!"
"So, you're buying a Mac... just because it's a Mac?"
"Yes."

I've always wondered... how do Macs produce this snobbery? It's not just in my family... it's everywhere! I'm told all the time "you should get a Mac!"
"Why?"
"Because it's really good."
"What makes it better than my Alienware M15x?"
"It's a Mac."

I really don't like the commercials. All the Mac users I've met are huge snobs that chastise me for using Windows. I guess I'm just not that intelligent for not being a mindless consumer who will buy something that is double the price of a superior product.

Eggo's point, while obscure, was in fact very well-made. You see that graphics card above? Just about the best graphics accelerator there is for Photoshop work. It doesn't work on Macs.
Errr...notice the port on the right of the third image? The DisplayPort? Developed by Apple?

The card will work on Macs as soon as Apple releases the drivers for it. FAIL.

Oh, and all of you who complain about the Mac in the commercials being 'superior' and 'how great he is'? Like in the current 'trim the tree' commercial where Mac says 'I'm really glad we're friends' and the PC has been rigging the Christmas lights to say 'PC Rules'?

The degree to which Mac-haters will project their own feelings of inadequacy to believe they're coming from an inanimate object shouldn't amaze me as much as it does.

I work in audio production and use Windows based PCs. Every other radio station I've worked for, and many (MANY) I know of that I haven't, use windows based PCs.

What's the big deal here? Some use macs, some use PCs. Why does everyone have to get so elitist about it?
Are we six years old? "My PC can beat up your Mac!" "Nuh-uh!" "YUH-HUH!" Get over it. It's a freaking computer. Oy vey.

On topic: I find the ads only feed the ridiculous Mac elitist attitude of existing Mac owners/users (See above posts), or feed on the ignorance of people who don't know enough about either. Macs aren't for everyone, neither are Windows based PCs.

Oh, and the ads also piss off those who DO know better and are sick of the Mac snobs sitting in Starbucks 'writing' a screenplay or some crap that no-one will ever hear of.

I love how much the ads lie too.
VISTA CRASHES ALOT = False
BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH = False
INCOMPATIBILITY = False
NO FUN = False
FRUSTRATING AND CONFUSING = False as long as you have an IQ above 50
I could go on. I watch mac commercials and I'm forced to think. Did I get a different Windows Vista than Steve Jobs?
Sure apple overexagurate in teh ad, but vista is pretty terrible, speaking as a disgruntled user. Sure it does'nt crash a lot, but its always asking to restart. And the system resources it takes up are immense. If you have 1 gb of ram, its always using at least 50% of it. Also the compatibility issue is true. I installed my copy of cubase sx3 and vista wouldn't take it. The program wouldn't save in the specified directory, and it made all the OS's interface un usable. Also id agree vista's no fun. It has no software exept the crappy free games out of the box, whereas macs have ilife, so you can do loads straight off the bat

Woops! You seem to forget that Pro Tools is available for both platforms. And I really wouldn't want to base my electronics purchases (or decisions on what sort of DAW to use) on what Metallica, Trivium, Michael Jackson, or Axl Rose used. Not that it matters; it's more important to realize how the producers and engineers feel.

And having spoken to ones who aren't complete Apple/Digidesign hacks and read their books and interviews, the only reason they keep Pro Tools (and Macs) around is because of sheeple like the aforementioned stars and very gullible people like yourself.

And if you've tried Sonar 7, Live 7, Logic Pro 8, Pro Tools is not even as good as all these "professionals" say it is."

Hey, that's just like how supremely overrated Macs are!

Now, let's go talk about video production. Oh wait.

So with Mac OS X, you get to overpay for the privilege of using 20% more system resources to take twice as long to encode video! Sounds like a great idea!
Whatever. I know what I, and thousands of professionals prefer. And it wouldnt become an industry standard for no reason. Face it mate, even with all your techno mumbo jumbo, professional prefer the mac experience. Case closed

I think you'll find that these professionals choose what they prefer for themselves

Then I feel sorry for the professionals that choose inferior products.
