Meh, I'll still watch it. I'm hoping its a high scoring extraveganzal like it was the last time the two teams met (37-35 I think, but I know the Steelers won). Besides, this is huge. Its title town vs. Bowl city. I mean, this is the pepsi v coke of the (american) football world. The only way this could be bigger is if it was something like The Browns vs The Steelers (though lets face it, the browns are winning anything soon) or more realistically the Ravens vs. The Steelers.

Or if you're not a steelers fan, GB vs. any team Brett Favre is on. Yeah... I dont follow the NFC very much. Its the weaker conference by comparison.

This is going to be a boring Super Bowl. That's why I'll be watching other, more exciting sports.

Actually, I know a lot of people all over the globe who watch the Super Bowl. Kind of like how Americans only give a crap about soccer during the World Cup.

(p.s., we wear the pads because the hits in football are way harder than the comparatively gentle shoves in rugby)

Also, don't troll ;)
yes indeed my friend likes american football, he also likes cricket though so there is no vouching for taste.

don't take it personally old boy, I was clearly joking. Not much for the rest of the world to do in this thread.

It's like that baseball World Series, that includes such countries as New York and Boston ;)

My favourite American sport is MMA, not truly American I know but I give the US credit since they made it popular in the west IMO.

The day I believe a video game prediction is the day I eat my right shoe. Its the equivalent of flipping a coin.
Except flipping a coin is random, and the game is a comparitively accurate simulation, based on statistics and trends.

I placed £50 on last year's game and laughed my way to the bank - same will be placed this year :)

Its not accurate in the slightest. I've seen people do this very same test for the entire play offs and the results were random at best. One person claimed a Patriots v Bears Super Bowl and the Patriots would win. A few others claimed Jets vs Packers and Steelers vs Bears. Heck, given how we didn't even expect Green Bay or the Steelers to even make it past those surprising first round games, how on earth can we even trust a machine?

JUst to point out, rugby players are beginning to xfar more and more protection. Scrum caps, shoulder pads and body blockers. And it's about time. Also the NFL is only losing out to football in terms of popularity...

Did anyone else notice that the score went from 17-10 to 17-20 after Green Bay scores a touchdown with 9:00 left in the 4th quarter at 0:53 in the video? They probably just missed showing the field goal but they showed every other goal in the game.

Might not even have to get out my Terrible Towel if they're going to win anyways. My money is on Troy sacking AND getting a pick on Rogers.

I know it's overplayed and overrated. Please forgive me.
Lil Wayne put out his own:

Both are utter trash really, but still, Lil Wayne's is just desperately grasping at straws. I mean hell, he was born in Louisiana. Thats almost as far as you can get from Green pay in the US.

EDIT: should note I support the Steelers, just saying though.

God, how much longer do I have to hear the ref jokes for? Where were the refs this year when Ben was getting hit after the play was over, hit in the face or getting his nose broken?

Rogers is an excellent quarterback (he currently has the highest career quarterback rating ever for a starter), but I'd give it a few years before I would put him above Ben (who has a larger body of work and a very unorthodox style)...not to mention that he'd have to win a couple of Super Bowls, too.

I'm cautiously taking the Steelers in a close game.
