ok im just here to take a little break from all the bigtime console games and focus on smaller titles thistime its magic the gathering ok so i have been playing since i was 5 so i love the game but it is pissing me off it keeps this freezing thing goin and it keeps glitching the land walk (example. forest walk, island walk) witch constantly pisses me off over all it was a decent game they could have made it beter by idk letting you make your own deck for starters or atleast letting you mix deck colors or beter yet let you play ALL the decks the computer has what do yall think about the game

Ever heard of "punctuation"?

EDIT: OT: Never played it so I don't know. Never found card game games interesting.

Let's discuss this instead.
I think punctuation is good.

I've heard that it's really good. Haven't felt like downloading it myself, though. I'm spending enough time with Resident Evil 5 that I don't need a new game just yet.

Pardon? If I was mocking anyone, it would the OP, in a lighthearted "Haha bad grammar" sort of way. You're hardly in a position to judge me there, as I was only building off of your post.

Back on topic: Does this game feature a deckbuilder of exceptional calibre? I can't see myself enjoying a virtual TCG that doesn't let me play with a decent set of cards.

I've only had the cards and the computer game sounded enticing but was expensive... and I was 12... This was in the days before computers became commonplace and we had to find more fulfilling things to do with our lives! [sic]. Well the white faction was always for the pussies, green was ppowerful, as was red and sometimes black. There were occasional blue and white cards that kicked the shit out of everyone because they were flying characters and inordinately powerful. (most units couldn't defend against flying) but on the whole having a decent collection of green wyverns knocked the crap out of all the red booby traps. I remember getting the 'Time bomb' car in a booster pack once which allowed something like 2 damage per turn to the opposing player of your choice per turn! very scary.

I do agree about the punctuation, you have 'zero punctuation'

...oh dear...!

Getting back on topic...

Personally, the planeswalker has always been a part of M:TG. I like the idea of actually being their selling point (if only for the story purposes).

look i never claimed to be punctual and i am dyslexic i cant spell get the hell over it
Then you should have said so. But I just think it's very annoying(and sometimes quite difficult to understand) when somebody doesn't use punctuations, commas, etc.

TBH this guy for a dyslexic has fairly good spelling. The dyslexics I know all suffer from a severe lack of patience and tend to just blurt out what they have to say in an inordinate rush without thinking about it enough, leading to poor spelling and grammar, indicating a behavioural disorder rather than a deficient intelligence.

I've not played for a good few years, still have all my old cards tho, and my Blue Deck Of Death is stick in it's little box, waiting for some love.
I've never understood the 'white is for pussies, red for death' stuff that alot of people I know tend to stick to.
I know a guy who had a scary white deck (to the point, where i wouldn't play him, it was that good) yeah, not so much damage dealing, but bugger me, they could last the distance. if you didn't have a green rush deck to play him with. you lost.
He managed to last more than 5 turns, You Lost.
Then he took it to the next level with his Artifact only deck, (which just made my random but useful 'remove all artifacts from the game' card all the more awesome

back on topic, is this the ORIGINAL MtG computer game? or a new one i don't know about. cos i'm 90% sure, in the old one, you could have any deck you wanted. even if it was stupidly overpowered.

Firstly, to the grammar commenter, some people online are not educated to proper grammar. It is counter-productive to belittle them for their lack of grammar. Usually it just means that they are poorly educated (not their fault) or still too young to know proper grammar (also not their fault). So please stop hating and be respectful enough to read his post and mentally correct it in your own mind...then respond to his question in your own grammar.

As to Magic The Gathering: Duel of the Planeswalkers, I think it was not designed for experienced players like the OP. It was designed to teach a simplified version of the card game. I am not aware of land-walk working incorrectly in the application, seems to work fine for me. Given the simplicity of the program I was also surprised that it often froze up my XBox 360.

Imho, the game left out deck customization for a few reasons. Firstly, to prevent new players from making non-functioning (mana screw, oops no land!) decks. Secondly, to prevent experienced players (like me) from editing the decks into unfair (but deadly) combinations for online play. Thirdly, some players believe that a truly good magic player can win with any deck.

I cannot count the times (in tournaments no less!) a bad magic player copied a 'killer deck' from a magazine and played it like a robot. These players pretend that they are amazingly skilled but are basically just copycats. To prevent this phenomenon WoTC enacted Tournament Rules, Construction Rules, and Errata Clarifications. Imho, deck customization is at it's best when a player designs his own decks with cards he prefers.

I think this game was designed for new magic players and intermediate magic players. If you feel that it has too many limitations, as I do, it is because you are likely an advanced player. For myself I wish I could choose which mana to tap manually when playing cards, and freely construct my deck.

I would prefer to play multi-color decks instead of the predominantly mono-color weenie decks this game presents. I would prefer to reduce the ridiculous amount of mana in all of the decks! Having too much mana is just as bad as getting mana screwed when you need to draw useful cards imho.

I only play the Black/Green/Red deck and the Green/Red/White decks against people online. They are the most intelligently constructed decks and offer the most variety. They are also the most powerful decks when their strategy isn't halted by mana screw while being pounded by a puerile mono colored weenie deck.

I wish I could just add a few cards to hose mono colored decks...and I don't mean those lame ass 'heal if they play ' cards. I want Circles of Protection, Wards, Creatures with Protection if I am going to play against a mono deck. I would also like to see Earthquake, Fireball, Shatter, Disenchant, Dark Ritual, Lightning Bolt, Ancestral Recall, and some Moxes and Special Lands.

i wholely agree with what ur sayin. but there could have been a advanced seting to create your own deck. even if it was only with all the cards from difrent decks not all cards from all sets and blocks but at least some coustamisation. and as for the land thing bout not being able to choose what land to tap that also is quite anoying. but ya i guess i have been playing for over 10 years so another thing i liked was the whole we send you a foil plainswaler just for purchasing the game but u have a good point on the whole thing

I never really played MTG before this and I quite enjoy it. Before this id onl played a bit of the WoW TCG and a bit of yugioh with my younger cousins. The game could have done with some better animations but its not that bad.. very noob friendly.

I really like the challenge mode, some of them are pretty tricky.

I still find it quite unfair sometimes though.. been through a few games where I havent picked up 1 manacard.

I do like these card games when they are in a game though. I hate playing with someone where they make up rules halfway through to suit them.

ya its too bad when people just make up rules to suit them it dosent work if you are playing a vetran though as for the game being noob freindly its more than freindly it is made for em to get them into the real game. but fun as hell none the less

I hope for a Magic The Gathering console game which have both online multiplayer and story mode. I just want all cards available which are not broken in 1 single game. Loved that MTG's the only trading card game in which a single card's value differs from 1 deck to another.

[Shameless Self-Promotion]http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.122432 - I wrote a review, feed back would be appreciated.[/Shameless Self-Promotion]

I really like this game, my only complaint is that you can't play Co-op over Live, it has to be done on one console.

I would love to see a full retail version of this game, with more deck customization and the full library of cards.

If anyone wants to play, I can't get enough of this game. Gamertag is Symp4thy, just shoot me a message.

I downloaded the demo, and I don't think I'll be buying the full game. Not because it's bad, I actually quite like it, it's just that there don't seem to be enough extra features for me to consider a buy - your deck wont change, and you can battle 2 people already.
