Yeah its not bad for 10$ but I can't believe they'd release a game that crashes your console that often, had 6 crashes at loading screens and 2 in game. The ability to make your own deck would be nice but the premades are pretty good.

I was really enthusiastic when I saw this game appear on XBLA. I used to play a lot of Magic when I was younger, the only real reason I stopped playing is because WotC kept bringing out expansions at such a rate that it was just way too expensive for me to stay current. So when I saw this game it seemed like a cool way to finally be able to play some MtG again. I immediately downloaded the demo, just to check that it wasn't some weird-ass realtime combat game or something, like a MtG game I bought for the PC once. Everything seemed cool, it was the original card game, no lame additions. It seemed exactly like the tabletop version, except on my 360, and with an option to play against an AI or people on the Internet. Being the careful person that I am, I decided to just quickly read through one review of the game before making the purchase, just to be sure. In that review I read something I couldn't believe, but I quickly discovered it was really true:

You cannot construct your own decks in this game.

What the HELL. Building your own decks, finetuning and optimising them, trying to think up original themes or combos, that's at least half the fun of MtG!! Instead, in this game, you can only choose from a number of standard decks. Madness. This game had such potential and they totally messed it up. Needless to say I won't be buying any Magic game where I can't import my own decks.

I hope for a Magic The Gathering console game which have both online multiplayer and story mode. I just want all cards available which are not broken in 1 single game. Loved that MTG's the only trading card game in which a single card's value differs from 1 deck to another.
you hit the nail on the head if all cards where good in all deck it would be boring. seeing cards used in diffrent ways it makes the game never boring alwais interesting

I see it as almost being a beta of the real MTG game. I have been playing for a long time, long enough to actually owned and played with Moxes, and it seems to be like this game, while fun for people who haven't been introduced to the MTG card game, works great for 2 reasons.

1) It will most likely boost the sales of the card game. Once people have gotten used to the video game and understands its limitations, they will find a whole new world open up to them in card format.

2) It's a first step to something that could possibly be way bigger in an online gaming format.

So, it's good all around for Wizards. Too bad it keep freezing!

i dunno...id be more sympathetic without the 'get the hell over it'...im also not understanding why the spelling is at least passable but the punctuation is gone. that doesnt sound like dyslexia, that sounds like someone who likes to create an artificial conflict so that they can give the middle finger to people that theyll never ever face.

WTH? Sorry, I know I'm not a part of this... but that just seems such a stupid and uppity thing to say. 'Worthy of my time'? Sorry, micro-rant over, and I'll slink away.

- there should be a question mark after the ok.
