So....any players out there?
The new block of cards was just released not too long ago and the artwork is awesome!

Anybody with fun experiences to share?
I used to play it when the main story arc was Urza battling it out with his brother.
Good times

Way back in high school, when MTG was new, I tried collecting. To be honest, I tried playing the game a few times and just couldn't get into it, but collecting them was still interesting, if expensive. I had a friend who was really into them, and when it turned out I had a few fairly valuable ones, he was willing to buy all my cards for more than I spent buying them, so I was happy.

Got into magic back in high school when it first came out (late 93/early 94). I bought a collector's edition box set for next to nothing. Played heavily locally and traveling to various places for tourneys for a few years and had full sets of Beta through Visions plus a mountain of other assorted cards when I traded my original set of cards even up for an Mitsubishi Eclipse to the guy that owned the card shop in my town.

Ended up getting back into a few other times afterwords but never to the extent I was invested originally.

I remember back a month or so before Revised came out a few of us got a list of the cards that were being removed in Revised and made a killing trading for stuff like the Power 9 cards and other Unlimited cards that were being pulled in Revised. I still to this day get a chuckle remembering trading a buddy of mine a Shivan Dragon in return for a Beta Mox Ruby and an Unlimited Cyclopean Tomb. . . . good times indeed!

Gave up recently, I moved back home and there's no nearby community and I wasn't a fan of Mirrodin.

Got into it a few months ago.

Lost a shocking amount of money in a short time but having fun.

Love to play red/black, sadly all my good rares fall under white/green. Oh well.

Got into it in middle school and was terrible at it because I had no concept of deck building (made 80-90 card decks with no themes besides "the green one"). My sophomore year of college we had a power outage one day and one of my friends happened to have some of his old decks and we played all afternoon and all of us spontaneously got back into it. Now it literally all I do with my friends over winter and summer vacations.

Anyway, I love the new sets, especially its departure from the bizarre metal-themed set of Mirrodin to something more traditional now(and I fucking love Mirrodin). My favorite colors are blue/black dickery or green/white dickery.

btw my avatar is the card Transcendent Master from Rise of the Eldrazi.

I recently got back into it, but stopped playing once school started.
A friend at I are going to play at lunch tomorrow, though I expect I'll end up crushing him under the steel boot of my red/green deck, colloquially known as "Search and Destroy".

I am rather curious what are going to be playing?
Me too actually I have never played the format before and well I built this deck that costed me less than 30 dollars to play which is awesome cause if I beat anyone I can rub it in there face I won with a deck worth a fraction of there's. You might be thinking how can you win with a deck worth so little well it is mostly cause it is just bloody fast 26 out of my 40 cards (excluding land obv) are all one drops while the rest are 2 with the exception of 6 3 drops and I have dark rituals for excel on top of it all.

Well, I kinda play. If having one deck that's probably mediocre and is probably not allowed in any tournaments is called playing. I also don't pull them out often, not many people around here play, or if they do, their closet players.

I haven't played in almost a month, after the mall that held the store that held tournaments was demolished due to slow business. I still do buy a booster pack once in a while, though.

I've been playing magic since. I dunno 1997? Never bought a single card. My friends always have about 50 decks at any given time and i just mooch.

Honestly, I hate building decks anyway.

I loves me Red combined with just about anything. I particularly love red/black red/green.

I have a storied past with MtG. I started playing around Unlimited (3rd edition IIRC), stopped playing soon after Ice Age, picked it up again in high school around the time of Onslaught, played it through the block and then stopped through Mirrodin. Got back in for Ravnica. LOVED RAVNICA.

Ended up selling all my cards except my 10 ravnica theme decks.

As for what colors I play, I like black/blue

I play white/blue or white/green, I haven't gotten any new cards so I still use infect, I also have a pretty crappy blue commander deck, crappy because it has too much land.

I've finally got a legaldeck (Red/Black Vampires, go go go), so I'm thinking of entering tournaments again. Though if I ever find a Vintage tournament, I am SO entering my Angel deck. Sure, Black and Red may be my best colors, but my Angels are almost un-fucking-stoppable.

And for the record...INNISTRAD LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME!

I have that card in my Angel deck. Level him up fully, hit him with Armored Ascension and Celestial Mantel, and then say "Game over, binky boy".

I've been planning to jump right in again. But things sure changed a lot!

Like for example what is Commander mode?

Haha that is another fun aspect about the game.

I loved my old Green-Black deck, which was basically a creature heavy aggro deck.
Start by casting Elven weenies and pump them with scores of Sinister Strength and Parallax Dementia.
Easy to cast and heavy hitting; whilst waiting for heavier creatures to mutate, terrorize them with making them discard cards.

Haven't tested them it competitions though.

Oh god you just made me feel REALLY old...

I began playing M:tG back when Unrevised was the core deck and they JUST came out with Antiquities and Legends. Oh and "The Dark."

I loved that expansion.

Anyways, OT:

I recently began playing again, third time getting back into it. I have a awesome Zombie deck that seriously rapes all that stand in it's way. It's kind of unfair, especially with a land that turns all lands into swamps as well as their regular type and 4 zombie masters that grant swampwalk.

Still, it's uber fun and my friends and I get together occasionally for a game here and there.
