I want to find this man and beat him to death with a giant thesaurus for talking like a fucking ghetto dweller while he gloats about hacking someone's account.

OP: how is this guy's method of passing the time till we're all dead any less meaningful than yours?

I refer to the "get a life" comment, of course. I thought better of leaving you to figure out why I'm asking.
Sure its his choice in life but theres passing time ... and then theres being a dick doing it .. to either pull this off he must have some skills or get extremly lucky in guessing a password, so if he does have the skills why not put them to better use or if hes just simply guessing a password for hours ... really?
Here we are again. Same problem - your opinion on what a good use of time is is not the be-all and end-all on the subject.

Perhaps this guy feels there IS no "better" use of his skills. Perhaps he prefers messing around to "better" pursuits. Or perhaps there is no "better" and you're the dick for acting like anyone who doesn't think like you is doing it wrong?
So let me get this straight - are you supporting what the hacker is doing? Are you saying it's okay for him to do that shit? Why are you defending him in the first place?

Hacking someone's account is not okay. It's never okay. There is no logical way around it.
Mmkay, well I was referring to hacking someone's Bebo or Facebook or PSN or Live account or even their bank accounts, Steam, Battle.net, things of that nature. It is simply wrong to hack someone else's account. Nobody deserves to have their account hacked. Period. The hacker in the video needs to get a life. And you need help.

That being said, I can't tell if you're being serious or not. Okay, so I said logical when I in fact meant moral. Alright then. Lend me your divine thesaurus so I won't make the same mistake again, oh great pseudo-intellectual one. Allow me the chance to improve mine own writing skills so that I might never again write anything unless it's strictly literal all of the time. I bow down to you, oh almighty, arrogant living thesaurus, oh amazingly pedantic king of the English language.

Enjoy your (illogical) rage.
Your sense of morality is extremely screwed up.

The fact of the matter is, the hacker was wrong to have done what he did. The fact that you are (inadvertently or otherwise) defending him by jumping and focusing on the "get a life" statement is actually very amusing. And why are you so mad? No chocolate milk for you tonight?

There is simply no benefit whatsoever from some ghetto dweller hacking a person's Live account or whatever. There's no way around it. If you disagree with me, you are wrong.

"the pursuit of knowledge for knowledges sake is the best use of time one could ever imagine, as it furthers our understanding, and therefore, these hackers are providing far more than we are, discussing it. At least they are introducing new information."

This guy hacked someone's account purely for recreational purposes and bragging rights. He's not trying to introduce new information or further the understanding of anything at all. The closest he's come to "discussing it", as you say above, is gloating about it on YouTube. Stop trying to justify what he's doing, because you just can't. It's pointless to try.

Enjoy your ban. :)

At some point in the future, the human brain is just not going to be capable of the self-deception required in pretending one set of morals is an objective, tangible truth. When that day comes, your kind is going to be locked in zoos and used as cautionary tales for the children. "If you aren't capable of logic, you get locked in with the other animals".

Seriously, how the fuck can you see this guy's well-reasoned post and completely sweep it under the carpet with "UR RONG LOL"?

"In other news, Richard Garriott was killed today attempting to catapult himself to the moon. His loss will be greatly mourned, as the games industry must now pick another Lead Game Designer to be 'That smelly weird kid' whom no one talks to. Rumors are abound that Clive Barker will take the position, however, it is reported that he is simply too attractive."

No, you're not the only one. But then, is there ever a bad time to think of Barbara Eden in a harem girl costume? I think not.

Would I be far off the mark if I reasoned that:

1 - You are in fact the same dude who got banned and you are at this point committing ban evasion, and/or...
2 - You're affiliated with the hackers somehow.

You call his post well-reasoned; I call it incredibly vitriolic. I can understand what all those big words mean, but stuffing a post full of them does not automatically make for a well-reasoned statement.

Quite frankly, you both suffer under the errant delusion that you are gods compared to me and the general populace. It's both pathetic and arrogant that you would, in a thread concerning someone breaking into Major Nelson's account for bragging rights and such, jump on the statement "get a life" and continue to assert that I, and generally those of us who think badly of the hacker in this case, are lesser creatures, lowly animals, and should be stuck in cages for your own amusement, locked away from society like genuine criminals, because we refuse to look through the eyes of a self-centered pseudo-intellectual with a perpetual superiority complex.

Cry more. *hugs*

Here we see the problem - "big words" do not equal nonsense. If you can't understand a point, don't assume it doesn't make sense. In any case, you've pretty much proven yourself incapable of conversation outside your comfort zone, so I'm not interested in you.

Yes and yes (in before the goblin-cunning "aha!" because you forgot your own wording. Yes, you are far off the mark). Because when two people with similar opinions agree, they're obviously the same person. Or perhaps it's that you can't approve of something without having been involved in it? Not that I do approve: my objection was to the rather fascist way you assume any way of life you haven't surveyed and approved is less meaningful than any other.

Incidentally, your decision to use the word "reasoned" gave me an lol.

Forgot to mention: you hit the nail on the head with the phrase "because we refuse to look through the eyes of a self-centered pseudo-intellectual with a perpetual superiority complex". Yes, that makes you inferior. If you are so set in your dark age clergyman mentality that there is your way and there is the wrong way, you are inferior to anyone who is capable of understanding the concept that other people have consciousness (probably) and therefore different ideas about what a good way to spend their time is. This guy's method of having fun is no worse than playing Dragon Age, reading a book or being with friends - yes, it's dickish, but to him it's every bit as meaningful. So yes, he should be punished, but you still don't get to condescend and assume it was a waste of time.

You are exactly the same as an "extermist" Muslim. They believe there is a wrong way to live too. I take back what I said about zoos, people like you belong in Guantanamo Bay.

You make me lol hard, bro. Seriously.

I just love how you and the other guy have raged so hard at me because of my statements. Had you been proper, you'd have seen what I said, considered it to be my opinion, and moved on. But no, you both had to attempt to drown me in a sea of big words and personal insults. Thanks for showing me that you can't read as well as you imply you can.

Yes, because re-writing someone's post to turn it into yet another personal insult makes you right.

Pot, meet kettle.

I merely pointed out that your attempts to save face like a teenager whose mother has just called him an embarassing name in front of his friends are transparent.

I agree. Stupidity isn't "wrong". Just embarassing. Hence the choice of words.

More personal insults.
At this point, you've dug yourself into a pretty deep hole. And not just in here - you're doing the same thing in other threads. This is clearly a normal thing for you.

Of course it is - you can't turn sanity off with a switch. As for "personal insults" - if you feel it's insulting to have your stupid opinion referred to as such, you're going to spend a lot of your time offended.

Oh, I agree, but you're not just insulting my opinion. I don't mind if you insult my opinions, but insulting a person directly isn't limited to calling them a mere name. Asserting that I should be thrown into a cage like an animal or a criminal is a personal insult.

Sanity =/= insulting people

I refuse to rescind my statement, because it's as true as ever. We locked up nazis who were only doing their job and didn't believe in it, we should certainly lock up people who believe there is a "bad" way to live. So yes, I consider you a criminal - be it only a thought criminal so far - and criminals get locked up.

By the way, you're on my ignore list now. It makes it easier for both of us. You don't have to be insulted and I have one less fool to suffer. Bye!
