Lately I've had a very odd sleep schedule so I am trying to get back to somewhat normal. This would involve staying awake all day. What better time to get into a great game. I've heard nothing but praise for both games yet never played either extensively.

I absolutely loved Ocarina of Time and seems odd that I've never played MM. The only format that I can play it on however is the Wii VC. Should I use a GC controller or the Wii classic controller if I decide on this one?

I also got a fully charged DSi XL ready to go if I go with TWEWY.

Which would you recommend?

I'm heading to the store now to stock up on Mountain Dew for the occasion and hope to see responces upon my return ;)

C-choosing between the two?

Actually, I'd go with Majora's Mask. Wonderful game, dark storyline, IT'S ZELDA, and it has THE coolest Link transformation EVER. Screw Wolf Link, it's all about the Fierce Deity!

I haven't played TWEWY yet but I say go with it.
Majora's Mask was a massive disappointment for me and I couldn't play it past the second temple.

Majora's mask in my books and many others is regarded as better then OoT due to its open/ sandbox nature and game play.

I didn't really like either of the Nintendo 64 Zelda games, but I didn't grow up with a 64. In fact, since I've played very little of Majora, I can't really judge it. But I've beaten TWEWY all the way, and I can't recommend it more highly. Just a warning: it's pretty wordy sometimes. See, I can find flaws in games I like.

I'm somewhat bias to say TWEWY.
While I have played both games but I never completed Majoa Mask since it was more difficult (unless you like the challange). Also the whole three days until the moon smash is abit of a restrain. Yes I know you can warp back to any of the days but it forcing you plan out your actions and not doing it at your leisure. Regardless it's still a good game.
TWEWY on the other hand is a fantastic game. The theme and combat style is very unquie and the soundtrack is so awesome (weeks ago I play the game again just to listen to the songs). Also the badge thing kind of want to make you to collect them all (not as bad as Pokemon). The downside TWEWY is that the control can be iffy depending on which badges you uses but it doesn't hinder the game that much.

So overal I recommend TWEWY

twewy is a unique and intriguing game but it can get a bit repetetive.

Majora's mask was an rpg with a f***ing time-limit. Stupid, stupid idea.

Go with twewy.

Wait, you have a Wii, right? Get the Legend of Zelda Collection Disc, which is a gamecube game, which the Wii can play. It has OoT, Majora's Mask, and the original 2 Zelda games that were on the NES.

You won't have to buy it on the Wii VC and you will always have the option of selling it if you get bored with it or don't like Majora's Mask for whatever reason.

The World Ends With You is highly original and a lot of fun for an RPG where you don't have to grind which always wins point with me and is probably one of the best games I've played on the DS. Though if you're a Zelda fan, you could stick with what you know, but hey, if you don't like TWEWY, you can take it back, right?

No, it's not an RPG.
With exception of the Adventure of Link, all Zelda games have been Action Adventure.

And, as for the clock, that's one of the reasons the game is so great.

I've played both a lot. And I'll tell you the pros and cons. Judge for yourself.

Majora's Mask:
Same mechanics as Ocarina with a really weird and bizarre/surreal world. Think Zelda plus Alice in wonderland. The time limit is not as restrictive as it may seem at first, but it's something that makes people antsy seeing a clock counting down to the world's end. The graphics are a ntch above Ocarina, but you play as young link. The places you visit and the dungeons you must brave are quite beautiful large, expansive and imaginative but also few (4 in number). There's a big emphasis on sidequests this time around. Keep in mind that it has some of the worst opening hours in a Zelda game, surpassed only by Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess not far behind. Buy this if you want a grand 3D adventure, with some unusual (but maybe not as enjoyable) quirks.

World Ends with You:
Now, I liked this game, but there's a reason it tanked hard. It's an interesting mix of JRPG, J-pop culture (with the emphasis on music and the clothing), an interesting but it can (and will) make you cross-eyed if you want to make it through alive. The story is interesting but is delivered in the usual crappy japanese shounen kind of way, which mires it in my eyes. And there's a LOT of exposition, especially before boss battles. And it's unskippable. Woe betide any who die in a boss fight. It's a relatively sizeable game, quite enjoyable, and quirky in a good way.. Keep in mind that there's an incredibly arbitrary way in which your equipment upgrades sometimes (for example, it upgrades if you don't play the game etc). Buy this if you want a JRPG a little bit different, even if those differences don't always work in it's favor.

Well I remember it being classified as an RPG upon release (as were the other zelda games) by Nintendo.

It is irrellevant however, because it is still a game with sections that are too long without an ability to save. Unless you can play for a few hours at a time with no interruptions, and you have carefully planned where to go and what to do, expect to play the same section over and over.

It's stupid, and a mechanic that ruins an otherwise awesome game that should encourage exploration and freedom.

How is it you've managed to avoid Majora's Mask? It's a great game, one of my all-time favourites. It does have a weird opening (by which I mean a serious WTF opening) but that serves to tell very abruptly you that this is not Ocarina of Time. It looks a lot like Ocarina, it controls like Ocarina, but you'll soon find out it's a very, very different game. It's not like any other Zelda game - it's darker, cleverer, more idiosyncratic and the gameplay is exceptional. Lots of people (including me) will tell you it's the best of the Zelda franchise.

Seriously. Play Majora's Mask now. The puzzle solving using masks and transformations is some of the most fun I've ever had in a game. Plus, it has tons of content, tons of sidequests, tons of secrets. I've played it through 4 times. I will play it again.

How the hell did you run out of time in MM? You're supposed to have a controller plugged in to play ya know. Use the inverted song of time thingy and you have all the time in the world. Seriously....
