Dead Space 3 is not Gears, never played the same as Gears and most certainly shouldn't RESEMBLE Gears of war. Appealing to a wider audience doesn't mean cover based shooting, it means hiring me as the guy to design Necromorphs and practically the entire game (I'm not being cocky about my work, but a Necromorph isn't supposed to resemble a Lost Planet creature, unless it's the Hive Mind). I have one idea of a creature made out of Hands that PULL ISAAC APART if you don't shoot certain spots enough.
Uhh... Dude? Wrong thread.

OT: I've rerolled characters for silly reasons before, there's nothing wrong with it. I probably had a thousand characters in Oblivion.
What I meant was: Changing gameplay in Dead Space 3 was a terrible idea, the stupid reason was to "Appeal to a broader audience"
No, I mean, this thread is not about changing gameplay in Dead Space(though I still would agree with you). This thread is about personal gameplay decisions, such as restarting a game because you want to play as a mage instead.

OOOOOHHHHHH............

Derp on my part.

I only did that with my main Skyrim character, I started an Argonian Battle Mage in November, was level 48 and did practically everything. Also, it was too easy and such. Plus, I realized I didn't make him too awesome :p

So, I deleted him, and made a new Argonian Battle Mage, focusing more on stuff that works for me. Also, Smithing and Enchanting had priority.

Smithing and Enchanting should ALWAYS be a priority!

But, it's understandable. Just remember to read the actual post next time, yes?

Captcha: thumbs up!

I restarted Skyrim because I thought it would be fun to play a High Elf racial supremacist, but for some reason all the elves still looked down on me and said things that didn't make any sense. Sad, because I wanted to be a 'bad' guy. I also killed everyone in the thieve's guild because I was annoyed that I was forced to take their quests when I didn't want anything to do with them at all. Unfortunately, most of them won't die, I guess they're plot relevant. XP

I also refuse to use characters that are most effective in RPGs like Persona if they're stupid or annoying. I don't care how many of my weaknesses they shore up.

Because it seems to be a recurring trend, akin to visiting the bathroom after a Taco Bell binge, let us delve into my goings ons in Skyrim.

My first romp was with a Breton battle mage named Malise, killed him off at about level 32 after finishing the main quest and finding all the Dragon Masks.

Next came great Beowulf, a Nord warrior specialized in swords of all flavors. Ended him at about level 54 after becoming the Companions Harbinger.

Then followed Arya -a reference if you get it- a Bosmer archer, who died at level 40 after leading the Thieves guild, dabbling with the Dark Brotherhood, and thoroughly breaking the game with a sickening crack.

Following close in tow was Sen, another Breton battle mage who also died around level 40.

Finally came Zaaren, an Imperial rogue who in 47 levels came part of the Thieves guild, Dark Bro-hood, and the Companions.

What ties them all together, I just got really, really bored with being able to kill anything within my sight.

I thought you could just re-roll your character whenever you wanted to in Dragon's Dogma?
Anyway, similarly, I restarted the original Mass Effect about 5 times because Shepard always ended up being an ugly fucker. He still is, just not as bad.
.
I can spent an hour screwing around with the face creator.....

and she still looks exactally the same

I've restarted Mass Effect a few times because Shepard looks all right while in the character creator but then once the game starts he/she looks like... well...

[sub]Disclaimer: Dramatization. Shepard may or may not actually appear like that during the game.[/sub]

I suck at it now because I haven't played the game in forever, but when I first started playing inFamous, after the second mission the game suggested that I should bump the difficulty up to "Hard" because I was doing too well. I consider that to be fit for this thread.

EDIT: Oh, also, needing to bump the difficulty in Dragon Age: Origins down to "Easy" every time I ran into a group of blood mages. God, they pissed me off so much. I could take down the High Dragon on the Mountain Top on "Normal" at level 10 or so, but god forbid I ever run into blood mages.

I restarted skyrim to make a heavy armor stealth assassin mage, mainly because i thought the idea seemed pretty cool. Threw about 60 hours out the window
I'm considering starting up a new Skyrim character. I'm currently a level 33 stealthy archer type but now that I can take most enemies out with one shot without them even beginning to think I might be somewhere nearby and am so stealthy that fuckers can practically walk right past me crouched just to their left without noticing me, the challenge is starting to fade.

So I'm considering starting up a Mage. I always like playing as Mages. I only played as an archer because I had some trouble with my first attempts at Mages, mostly because of my own immense stupidity at the time.

Plus I want to get involved in the Mage's College business, which doesn't make much sense to do as an Archer whose only spell is basic healing that I never need to use because no enemies ever do substantial damage to me (on account of the whole "they can't fucking see me for shit" thing).

Plus the idea of being an Illusionist/Conjurer fucking with enemy minds and making them my bitches just seems incredibly satisfying to me.

I've lost a few games of UMVC3 by choosing to be flashy and end the game with Vergil's lvl 3 hyper, fail the second input and just dash backwards instead leaving me to get Dark Wesker'd in 2 seconds.

But really can you blame me? Just look at it!

So freakin' cool

I'm sure i've made some decisions in RPGs because of random bullshit, not much comes to mind though...

Except the time where my one Fallout:NV character had sex with a robot just because I was curious...

I do the restart thing like 10 times every time I start a customizable game because I don't like how the character looks, I sunk points into something i don't use, I realize that i want to be a smashy character because stealth characters are so broken when the AI doesn't seem to notice or care that I just slit the throat of the dude sitting across from another dude at a table... I' looking at you Skyrim.
