Completely agree with this one. the only thing that killed the game for me was the combat. It was much more fun running around and dodging people.MiracleOfSound said:I just think they should leave the combat out altogether.
The game was most fun when you were just running and jumping and not having to worry about some asshole shooting you and slowing down the lovely fast pace.
I agree. The most fun I had was when I was just running around through the DLC levels.MiracleOfSound said:I just think they should leave the combat out altogether.

Oh I agree with not fighting with them (maybe the odd one like I said) In the first place it seemed it was insinuated that ME2 would work better purely as a parkour simulator, and thats what I was responding to with that comment about needing the blues.AjimboB said:It's possible to have a sense of urgency without fighting the blues. Think about it, wouldn't you feel a greater chance of urgency if you COULDN'T fight back? Maybe instead of having the blues have guns, make them like the british police, with their billy clubs and tasersSevenfest said:It's nice to see so many people rate the first ME, I get slated so often for recommending it to people.
I don't think do away with the combat entirely, like the original post said it'd be cool if it was made into part of the speed run so some sort of disarm into a flip and then carrying on. It needs to be part of the story though, if it was just "run into room, kill all teh baddies" then it wouldn't have made any progress. The Blues are needed though, they gave it that sense of urgency.
I think if it was entirely sandbox the game would suffer though - Although the linear corridor sections were irritating at times, it did make you appreciate it so much more when it all opened out again. So maybe they need to find the balance there.
Enjoyed the story too, and that soundtrack was consistently awesome. Hoping there's more of the same in the 2nd one, that way you don't have to worry about getting shot, but you still have to get around them, because you can't fight back. It maintains the sense of urgency, and it would maintain the speed, because your goal is to keep moving so that you don't get cornered.
I really doubt that would work. The linearity of the first game is what allowed for such good level design, as well as a sense of scale that sandbox games rarely deliver. It just wouldn't work, and has been done better by other games. Let Mirror's Edge do what it does best, and what it does best is not sandboxing.TheNamlessGuy said:You know what I think?
It should be a sandbox game.
Imagine it, having the entire city to run around in.
Fight the Blues?
Naw, I just feel like running.
So you run away.
It would be awesome
Add aliens and robots who make you sugar waffles and I'm sold.TheNamlessGuy said:You know what I think?
