So I was playing Marvel VS Capcom with my friends today and I found the ultimate team: Deadpool(mostly just because he is cool, not because he is good), Ghost Rider(His B attack has a really long range), and Amaturesu(spam B to win). I was unbeatable and it was fun.

Also in Dragon Age: Origins I always find my party to be Me, Alistair, Leliana, and Wynne. Usually Alistair because he is a boss at tanking, Leliana because she is my favorite romance, and Wynne because she has heals.

I don't have a perfect team in pokemon, but Clawitzer is such a boss. 120 sp. atk + Mega Launcher = pwning everything. Also Absol w/ Super Lucky, Razor Claw, and crit boosting moves just rapes with all his crits.

What are your perfect teams?

You mean actually perfect teams? Or teams that just work for me?

In UMVC3 my team is ( now) Tron / virgil / rocket raccoon. While not unbeatable, it is a lot of fun to play, it is original , and quirky enough to make my opponent be extra cautious. No one ( except abegen) uses tron since they nerfed her assist in vanilla . And raccoons damage is shit but his log trap assist will make anyone respect the hell out of you. His spitfire assist is good too but i just love the log. It's the game i spent the most time on this gen.

My best pokemon team back in pearl was smeargle / machamp / slacking / slowbro / polygon Z / megneton. A weird team , but fun as hell. It was a trick room team. Machamp and slacking would one shot everything. Every pokemon was legitly iv bred and ev trained.

In Tales of Symphonia I was generally always rolling with Lloyd, Genis, Raine, and Zelos by the time I got to the final boss, because I really liked the balance between melee and ranged-casting that setup brought. In Persona 4, my final team was the protagonist, Yukiko, Teddie, and Kanji.

If the was supposed to be a thread about teams exclusively in MvC3, then whoops.

when I say perfect team I mean the most enjoyable team in your eyes. It doesn't need to be good, you just have to love it.

If you read the rest of the OP I mentioned other games too, so it is not just MvC3. I tried putting in those other games so people wouldn't assume I was only talking about MvC3/fighting games with team aspects.

In that case, whoops avoided!

Disgaea 1 - Archers
Disgaea 2 - Kunoichi
Disgaea 3 - Rifle Demons
Disgaea 4 - Rifle Demons + Archers
Disgaea D2 - Succubi + Archers + Killer Knight[1]

Tactics Ogre - Necromancers and Undead

Final Fantasy Tactics - Monks Only (Chakra and Earth Slash are ridiculous)

Pokemon - Only Ghosts

MvC2 - Mummy guy, Mexican Cactus and Wiggly Tentacle Monster (Blackheart is nice too)
MvC3 - X23, Chris Redfield, (Dark) Phoenix

Other games with teams escape me at the moment. As evidenced by the general theme of my choices, it's generally the most cuddly wuddly creatures. I end up picking something that I enjoy rather than what I find to be most effective.

My go to team in UMVC3 was Phoenix Wright/X-23/???. One of the reasons I dropped that game was because I had no third team member. Seriously not one and I tried most of the cast. Honestly after playing BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena, I tend to play only two people and nothing else. Labrys/Shadow Labrys and Mu-12/Makoto respectively.

I did like X-Men Phoenix but she's fuckin' shit in your typical solo queue games because she has 400,000 HP. Her kit is really good even without Dark Phoenix and I liked the novelty of the two Phoenixes but that HP pool is just criminal. In a game where 80% combos are commonplace to standard HP pool people and considering UMVC3 is inherently a rushdown game, Phoenix is fucked 99% of the time. To you people not familiar with how the HP system works, the standard HP for the majority of people is one million, with some going around 1.2 million and some dipping to around 700,000 maximum. Vergil's Stinger does 100,000 damage at base according to the figures in Training Mode. Phoenix? More like, DEAD LOL

I would love if Capcom made a second version of Phoenix where she has more health but no Dark Phoenix to fall back on, that would fix my problems immediately. Obviously you can't put both on the same team.

Do you have Wrex and Garrus?

Then you're perfect.

And if those options aren't both available, Garrus and Liara with a Vanguard Shep. Blue babies err'where.

In the Mass Effect series, I usually went with Garrus, and Tali roughly about half of the time.

In Tales of Vesperia, I often picked Yuri, Estellise, Rita, and Judith for most of the game.

in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, I usually took Cyrus, Gabriel Angelos, and Davian Thule with me on most of the missions, especially Cyrus when properly equipped. I narrowly managed to win that one mission where I had to defend against a horde of Tyranids on Meridian thanks to him.

I always enjoy assembling trollish pokemon teams, due to being a terrible human being. Stuff like a Mr Mime/Shuckle combo, which transforms Shuckle into a highspeed death machine. Then of course there's the Shedinja with Sturdy trick for triple and double battles, F.E.A.R. (if I'm feeling really cheap),etc, etc

In MVC3 I suppose my team was X23/Amaterasu and then no one as I didnt like anyone else enough which was a shame dammit why wasnt Psylocke in the line up.

For MVC2 my team was SonSon/Rogue/Psylocke and while I didnt play it much as I rarely had anyone to play with and wasnt a fan of the mechanics in general I really liked this team they were just fun.

Skullgirls my team is Valentine and Squigly atm but Eliza will be added when she is released.

Tekken Tag my team will probably be Asuka and Michelle but Roger jr. and Kuma will be another team I reckon.

KOFXIII team was Takuma/Yuri/Mai although I wanted to replace Takuma with Mr Karate but never bought the DLC maybe I will buy the game again on steam even though I such at it.

Im just sticking with fighting game teams here.

Pokemon double-battles; a flying pokemon and something that knows Earthquake :D Same works well for something that knows Surf but make sure the flyer is actually using Fly at the same time!

Xenoblade Chronicles: Shulk, Reyn & Sharla. They just get it done - Shulk can dish out damage & is the only one who can use Monado arts, Reyn is simply the best tank and Sharla is the best healer. The others can half-fill some of these roles so the right combos can work but them 3 just do it best.

UMvC3 is brilliant for making stupidly fun teams XD

Amaterasu, Deadpool and Dante for spammy, spammy fun (also because Deadpool is hilarious. I love his fourth wall breaking, particularly when he hits your opponent over the head with the health bar ^.^ )

Hulk, She-Hulk and Wesker is another favourite for me, because no one else I play with has really bothered to learn how to use them, so they're kinda my speciality.

Felicia, Tron Bonne and Super-Skrull are also ludicrously fun.

I could do this all day :p

For Dragon Age, my human warrior tends to be a tank/DPS hybrid. My preferred teams are:

Origins: Wynne (healer, always in my party), Leliana (rogue, also my romance option so she gets preferential treatment over Zevran) and the third member is more changeable, but I tend to favour Oghren, or my dog.

Awakening: Anders, Sigrun, Oghren

DA2: much more variable, I like to mix and match between Anders, Varric, Aveline, Isabela and Bethany when she's available.

In Xcom I played for more months than I need to after the final mission became available to get a full psi squad of a support (The Volunteer), an assault, 2 snipers and 2 heavies. All ranked Colonel with the best gear available including the guided rockets. A touch overkill. The only thing threatening to them was sectopods.
