I'm curious about people's opinions on this subject.

Pink would be an obvious example, most men wouldn't be caught dead in it, public opinion on it isn't particularly forgiving either.

But what of green, purple, orange, red etc.?

For myself, the only color i'd absolutely never consider wearing would be Yellow, it's just.. yuck.

I will wear any color, as long as it's black.

Also, what's the problem with pink? Real mean (aren't afraid to) wear pink! [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RealMenWearPink]

But yeah, dark tones for me. Black, brown, navy blue maybe. Not concerned with "not looking manly", but it's just that I like the way I look most in those colors.

Prepare to be quoted quite a bit... probably...

Anyway, me too! -_-

I generally only wear three colours: black; dark blue; & dark purple. The temple to Slaanesh is over there, thank you...

I wear a lot of black, but I've never had a problem with any other color. I mean, I hate brown, I hate earth tones, but I never thought of any colors as gender specific. I've got pink shirts, yellow shirts, etc...

Mostly greys, blacks and whites for me. Only reason why is because I wear nothing but jeans, and those colour shirts go best with them in my opinion.

It's funny you say that because just over a hundred years it was the exact reverse; pink was a boy's colour and blue was a girl's colour, and it was perfectly acceptable and expected for boys to wear dresses before they were breeched, if you're curious just Google breeching boys. As for myself I don't mind any colour, but at the moment usually wear clothes coloured beige, brown, black, grey, white, navy and blue.

Anything goes, as long as you can pull it off. Even pink, although I guess thats hard for a lot of blokes to look good in. I'd say the only exception is bright orange. Unless its on a tie, an entire torso covered in a bright orange top looks fucking horrendous.

I like reds blues and greens myself. Wore enough black in my heavy metal phase. Although I still have black polo shirts and stuff - I just cant understand why people limit themselves to black all the damn time. Their choice though.

:-( Earth tones are great, especially for Barbour jackets and the like. Whatever you feel comfortable in though :D

Really? I've seen plenty of men with pink shirts - from formal ones to just casual. And I am pretty sure their balls didn't fall off or anything in addition to them looking fine. Also, before you ask - they were alive, not corpses so...they weren't caught dead in the shirt.

In fact I've heard that sort of is a good colour for men's shirts.

OT: Anything is acceptable while it's matching up in some way. Screaming green jeans and an orange top, for example wouldn't be my go to combination but on their own (or with something else) they are fine. Also they could match up, too if appropriate.

Myself, I mostly wear dark-ish clothes because I'm boring like that.

And pink was the damning color of gays during ww2, I know the history on the color, but it's still got this thing attached to it that people can't seem to get past.

I'm a real man then, as I do in fact own (hot) pink clothing, the reactions you get are hilarious at times.

I hate yellow as well. It's pretty much the only colour I can't stand.

Yeah, I see a lot of people wearing pink. It is a nice colour, after all, especially for a shirt as you already mentioned.

I admit that my clothing is mostly blue, black, grey and brown. I am fed up with blue and went to wearing brown more.

I am however branching out to try more colours like red (dark) and green (as long it's not too bright).

I suppose bright colours does not appeal to me at all (I don't like to stand out) however any colours is fine on a guy as long they stand for it but in saying so why would you were a colour your hate so much?

I don't have particularly strong opinions on it in general, however if given a choice I go with dark colors in general or white.

I think the biggest problem with why pink is associated so much with girls is because of advertising and marketing, go into any toy store and the girls section is just a mirage of pink absolutely everywhere, so much so that boys are absolutely terrified to venture in there lest they be girlified, and of course it doesn't help that boys and girls are being pigeon holed and stereotyped from birth, why parents might even receive blue/pink presents/outfits before the baby is even born, which just makes matters even worse.

I usually have to stick to earth tone colors. Black, White, Navy blue, and any other vivid color does not look good on me. Only time I wear black is with jeans.

Which sucks, there are a bunch of "rat pack" style black suits that i like but look terrible on me.

As for pink....honestly it doesnt look good on white men in my opinion. Blacks can really make pink (or purple) work.

I only wear four colours. Gray, black, white and blue, though I lean heavily towards black, silver and navy.

I am gender-blind when it comes to judging other people's colour choices. If I try to gouge out my eyeballs with my own pen, it's because the colour you're wearing is causing me untold amounts of agony, not because I think it's inappropriate for your gender.

All colours (and all shades) are appropriate for all genders, but some shades are just painful to look at.

I have multiple V-necks in "feminine colors". Not to mention a bright green (not like a hi-visibility jacket) hoodie.

I believe it's not what you wear, but how you wear it.

I usually only wear black, brown and dark green/khaki. I occasionally wear blue jeans, though that becomes more rare lately. I sometimes wear a yellow shirt when I'm around home and it's hot as hell, but I don't wear it out in public. That's about it, I guess.

I don't wear yellow or brown myself. I tend to stick mostly with stuff in the primaries and black white. Though Iv'e got a few things with pink bits, and a pink tie.
