Choosing to wear pink to show how secure you are in your masculinity is a sign that you're insecure in your masculinity. Just felt like pointing that out.
Personally I'll wear any color as long as it's dark.
What I'd wear, I tend to go for less visible colours. That's not to say darker colours, just ones that don't particularly stand out. Since I tend to wear my t-shirts for the design or pattern, the colour doesn't really bother me unless it's unduely bright. Though that's less so I don't stand out and more they stain really easily.
I tend to wear a lot of black, not out of any fear of being perceived as unmanly or whatever, just personal preference. I do have one pink shirt and a few other more brightly coloured shirts lying around that I throw on every now and then and nobody really comments on them, though in this day and age not that many people are liable to give a shit; more androgynous clothing in general isn't exactly an alien concept unless you've spent the last 10 years diligently ignoring every high street in the country. If anything, the only trepidation I have about wearing pink is that people might mistake for a chav:
*shudders* Anyway, as for what's acceptable, I can't say I'd be really sure until I saw it, depends on the person, the weather, the event, if they're hot they can get away with it (sometimes) yada yada etc. but I guess in a general sense, any kind of jarring/drastic colour combinations put me off more than anything. Actually, just having brightly coloured trousers is enough to make me squint, I have no idea why people think it looks cool and it can completely ruin an otherwise killer look:
Ugh, dude, seriously, just go out and buy yourself some black trousers and shoes and you'd look so fucking money, baby. Anyway, in spite of my rambling, at the end of the day I'm really not all that fussed about what bits of fabric people choose to ensconce themselves in and I'm really the last person on the planet you'd turn to for fashion tips, but I guess in general I prefer the bright colours to stay on the top half of the body.
On a side note, it would appear that I've just reached 6000 posts:
Well fine, be that way, guess I just won't be inviting you to my 6000 post celebration party. Guess I'll just have to have all the cake for myself. How do you like that Mr. Bale?
I'll wear just about anything but gray and yellow, simply because I dont like the colors. My closet is roughly 50% black 20% white and the rest red, brown, one blue, and one pink shirt.
I wouldn't wear pink.. but that's only because I would look terrible in it. There are other colours I just don't like at all, and some I don't think look good on clothing in almost any case, but I don't think I'd ever put it down to a gender thing. It's more of an "ewwwww, what are you wearing?" thing.
as for other people, i could not give any less fucks. wear whatever you want. as for me, i prefer solid black, and i'm comfortable in solid blue as well. aside from a special case, i refuse to wear anything with an image or pattern on it. just solid colors.
some of my mates used to have a "pink shirt friday", so in a engineering lecture there would be around 10 people with bright pink shirts.
I dont see any problem with any colours, other then a really comfy "bum" shirt i dont have a purple shirt.
then again i dont have any fashion sense either.....
I usually like darker colours though so i have quite a few browns, blacks, dark blues. other then that it is generally a simple plain coloured shirt.
Some articles I have a limited range, others an unlimited range. I wouldn't wear pink shoes, or an orange jacket...but would where both coloured ties and shirts
Purple. Purple is the only colour I would ever wear in public. Frankly, it is the only colour I like seeing on other men too. It is extremely rare however, and I usually go though my day filled with contempt for the ludicrous range of colours (black, brown, blue, red, green etc) other men wear.
Or, if I wasn't being a sarcastic dick, I would say any colour a man feels like. If he wants to wear a pink shirt, and feels good in that colour, awesome. I am partial to darker colours myself, but have no colour I would absolutely not wear.
I think strangely coloured trousers tend to loo ridiculous, but for t-shirts things I don't mind so long as it's not bright pink or yellow really. I tend to wear darker colours though, considering most of the time I'm wearing a band shirt (rarely aren't black) or a lumberjack shirt (which look awful in bright colours) and jeans. I also have vitilgo, which has damn near covered most of my visible skin, so I am one pasty fucker, and brighter colours tend not to look so great with that.
