Space. It's really boring. Especially when you're drifting through it, in a small, cramped, solitary space craft. Death isn't an option, due to a specialized Respawn Matrix that prevents me from dying. If I never have to worry about death, I'll never have to worry about time. I'm writing this to prevent a complete loss in sanity. Maybe if I can look back over my thoughts, and the way I think and process things, I might not lose myself. So, Entry 1, nothing to see or talk about.
I don't believe it. There's a door, I think. I can see it though, and I'm drifting towards it, slowly. There is a space suit in here, presumably for situations like these. I'll put it on, and try to grab onto it. I've seen the door before. I hope this works.
It worked. The door was big enough, and when I grabbed it, I just kind of appeared inside with the shuttle. It's a mall. A really big mall I think. And it looks abandoned. There's mold in some places and vegetation in others. Debris is scattered on the floor, and the whole thing looks like it'll collapse at any moment. I'm gonna explore later.
It's been a while. Firstly, my Respawn Matrix seems to be failing, which meant I needed to figure something out. I decided to clean the area I was living in and in this task I found something. An elevator shaft. I made a plan, and I explored it. The lower levels, the sub-basements as they're called, are off limits though. I never want to go back there. I found one thing though. Another Respawn Matrix, a really old one, possibly one of the first. Which means this might be one of the first Malls created...
Ever since I activated the Respawn Matrix, the Mall seems to have begun healing itself. The foundations have repaired and the holes are sealing back up. I explored further into the Mall itself and found a room, a very secure room in fact, with several strange computers. I'll live here. I need to live here. Something has been following me since I left the Sub-Basements.
I think the Mall is healed. The computers are online and the room seems to be hidden and impenetrable. I can even access the Respawn Systems from here. One of the options is to "Summon New Players". That's what I'll do, I'll give this Mall the only thing it still needs. People.

#1: Be fair - No insta-killing, no "I'm actually secretly wearing neck armor so I didn't die!", No bullshit. Keep it fair.
#2: No God-Modding - You are a human being, that means you're limited to what a human being can do. Well, in terms of Mall Fight anyways. You can't bend steel or punch someone's head clean off,
#3: Be Nice - Try to be at least somewhat respectful of other people. And if you're gonna be a dick, try to stay in character so it makes sense. (If you feel offended or overly annoyed, message me or something.)
#4: Contribute - The thread features two types of play. The type where you can do whatever you want with each other, and the type where you specify an action and I tell you the outcome of that action (More on this below). Either way, most of the time I'd prefer for you, the players, to do what you want.
#5: Have Fun! - Okay this is actually more of a request than a rule but you get the idea.

This will work in two ways. It'll switch between these two ways at certain points:
Free Fight - Players fully determine their actions and outcomes during certain scenes. Most of these occur prior to the introduction of the stories driving force. However their actions during these times will not affect the plot as greatly as during the Die Roller parts, and the scenes are intended for fighting other players or discussing ongoing plot points. Free time basically.
Die Roller - Similar to the majority of Earthventure, Die Rolls affect the outcome of events in conjunction with player actions. The specific dice used will be a d20. Fumbles will not result in death, but during certain moments Corruption can occur as a result of respawning.

[HEADING=2]"WELCOME TO MALL FIGHT!"[/HEADING]
- You are trapped in an infinitely expanding Mall hurdling through space and time. If you want to prolong your meaningless existence, find a store, grab a weapon, and start tearing up other players. Weapon crafting and creative kills are encouraged in this game. Don't be afraid to pour gasoline on a fire ax and make a literal fire ax. Bad puns are encouraged.
- Remember you're just playing ordinary people trapped in a Mall. Starting the game, you will have no elaborate backstories, no hidden godlike powers, no access to anything that would make you overpowered. The point is simply to have fun. When you turn yourself into a Sue, there's no point in me continuing the game.
- Because everyone starts off on the same foot, firearms, explosives, and magic will be locked until certain points in the game. No high-power weapons either unless given in weapon drops.
- Don't worry about your own mortality. When you die, and you will die a lot in this game, you can respawn anywhere in the Mall except near the player that just killed you. Spawn-killing will not be tolerated.
- Team-ups are allowed, but remember this is a fighting game. Everyone kills everyone at some point.
- If you have played Mall Fight before on the Escapist or on the Unofficial Official Mall Fight Forum, remember that you are playing an entirely new version of you. Most of the baggage from the past games will be wiped away to give new players a chance to start from scratch. You can still keep your inside jokes.
- Once every week or two, we will have campaigns that further Mall Fight's main story. The RP will be closed to newcomers during these times. If you want to join in the middle of an Act, send me a PM and I might think of a role for you.
- Remember that if you can't post it on the Escapist, you can't post it here. Use your common sense, people. Other than that, you can go anywhere and do anything.

"Congratulations! You've been selected to attend the grand reopening of the Mall! Remember, this is a one time offer, and passing this up is something only a fool would do! So don't miss this tremendous opportunity!"
That's the voice you remember telling you about this place. When you got here though, there wasn't a soul it sight. Were you too late? Too early? Whatever the problem was, that's the last thing that happened before you lost consciousness.
You woke up an hour later in a random part of the Mall. The PA boots up
"Attention all shoppers. Please remain calm. You have been selected as part of a program to test the durability and effectiveness of the brand new Respawn Matrix. To test this device, you must attack, hurt, and kill anyone you find in this Mall. Happy Shopping!"
The robot voice cuts off. The lights flicker once. The game has begun.
