what was the most painful thing you have ever seen someone go under, whether emotional, mental, or physical. here's the catch: it can't have happened to you. you had to be merely an observer.

A guy getting hit in the nuts by a baseball bat.

I felt it.

Edit: Hmm... better go with something worse...

The look on my mothers face when she heard about the death of her father. It haunts me.

(I didn't want to say that)

I watched a kid lean too far in a shopping cart and go ass-over-teakettle flipping over the edge, landing directly on his right arm. The kid is screaming bloody murder as his father puts him back in the cart and tells him "shut up, you'll be fine" before continuing to shop for another 15 or so minutes.

About a week later I learned that the kid broke both bones in his right forearm.

My friend jumped off something extraordinarily high, and crushed some of his vertebrae. The high pitched whining noise he made for the next few minutes was nothing short of terrifying.

A few years ago I went to a funeral for my second cousin who had died in a car crash. I didn't really know her, but her husband and 6 year old daughter were there. As they were lowering the casket down, the little girl looks up at her father and says "Daddy, when is mommy going to wake up?" He broke down and started crying right there, but before he did there was this split second where I saw this incredible pain in his eyes. More than I had ever seen in any man. It was difficult to watch, to say the least.

I was at a track meet, the girls 100 m hurdles were up. It's one of the first track meets so freshman are new to it. This girl isn't very good. She jumps over one, falls, next one, falls, next one, falls. Good times.

Probably when I was in pop warner football years ago. During practice, we were doing monkey rolls (three people in a horizontal line, first jumps over one, rolling, 3rd jumps over him, 1st jumps over second, and so on.) When one kid landed on another ones arm, breaking it instantly. He screamed so hard it was fucked up.

Well, I'm disaster prone so here are a few:

- When I was younger I cut my head open once cortesy of a window frame (don't ask).

- Going even further back, on my 2nd birthday I fell and opened up a huge gash under my left eye.

- One time I threw a switchblade at the ground and it ended up landing in my foot... I wasn't wearing any shoes.

- I for some reason decided to use those huge garden scissor things to cut an apple in half one time... the blade went straight through the apple like butter and cut half way through my index finger on the other side.

- I was resting my hand on a metal 'n' shaped pole thing stuck in the ground designed to stop a fire door from swinging open and smashing into the wall but someone decided it would be a good idea to swing the fire door open as hard as they could and it slammed against the 'n' shaped bar right where my hand was and basically there was so much pressure on my finger that it practically burst and opened up a huge deep cut in my finger and removed half of my fingernail.

EDIT

I should learn to read the whole question before posting lol. Erm, worst thing I've ever seen happen to someone else... well, if you count internet videos I've seen those Islamic beheading videos, they look pretty painful.

This is mental/emotional.

My little sister got stalked by a guy over the internet when she was 14. Granted, it was partially her fault, but she's still getting over that because he's still stalking her three years later. I felt pretty bad about it too because I only found out about six months into the stalking. I could've stopped it so much sooner..

Physical? One of my friends getting kicked in the nuts by the strongest girl you will ever meet.

He pissed me off (he did something bad to me okay!) so I destroyed his life. Friends in law enforcement and drug addicted relatives can go a long way. Anyway, I (with some assistance) made him lose his job, apartment, assets and money. He then got severely depressed and turned to drugs which I had a relative supply him with. After he got hooked I stopped the supply and any money hes gotten his hands on since then has gone to drugs so he can get his fix. I felt good for awhile, then bad, but I am now indifferent.
