yeah, i suck at that game's online
im just happy when i get more kills than other people on my team, but i almost always get around twice as many deaths just because i like to run and gun

it doesnt matter, if someone ever insults you for it, ask them what they spend their friday/saturday nights doing
they'll probably shut up after that

For every 0.8 like you there is a 3.6 like me. Want some tips?
I've had the game since release and haven't prestige once yet. Between that and coming on here and telling everyone about it, when would I have the time and motivation to implement tips?

Just kidding...sure.
Okay. I use one of three techniques depending on how the other team plays. Browningm1919 (You won't have that yet so just use MG42) with stopping power, bouncing betties and extreme conditioning. I then take on of the tower positions(Maps like Cliffside, Makin, Dome, Castle and Upheaval) Use the bouncing betties to prevent attacks from my back then stand at a window gunning people down.

Technique number two is Type 100 with dual magazines(can be replaced with an stg-44 for longer range), bouncing betties again, Juggernaut and Extreme conditioning. For this one I basically run around the map gunning people down, plant the bouncing betties in a commonly used doorway and then leave them. I find this the most effective having just got a 60 kill streak with it.

Technique number three is my personal favourite. Mosin Nagent with scope. Bouncing betties (Yes again), stopping power and Deep impact. Same technique as number one only I hide in a quiet spot with a view of one of the major towers. Works best on hardcore.

Hope that helps.
There is a word for what you describe: "camping". So to sum up: camp with either a long, med, or short range gun, depending on the map. #2 is not a technique, it's just playing.

Great advice.

You cant suck more than me at CoD. I'm beyond abysmal at it and have no fun whatsoever so therin decided to sell up. For example: I'd often be lucky to get a kill every 4 deaths and often I, unlike those who have kill streaks, had a death a streak. A death streak is where you spawn and die within 10 - 20 seconds of spawning 10 or more times. Its became and irriatation and a blight to my PS3 so I abandoned ship. MGO however Im fair at and have a smashing good time.

Play games you enjoy, regardless of your reasoning. Unless its because killing turns you on. Then you should go see a psychiatrist. Else go and have fun! Obsessives are pathetic, so are 12 year olds who squawk insults in nasely voices down their spit flecked headsets.

Edit: To that effect, Im quite bad at TF2, but love that game and can devour many a night of mirthful epicness in its cartoony goodness=D

In the military business we tend to refer to you politely as a grunt, but in private as cannon fodder.

YOU THERE! RUN UP THAT HILL!

*kapwang!* Thud.

Oops! So there ARE enemy soldiers out there! Ok you guys flank left, while the rest of you give supressing fire...

just remember: dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!!!

If anyone here plays a game called Crossfire, a free online fps, then you'll know what im talking about.

My average life expentancy on it is about 5 seconds. I usually end up at the end of the game with about 50 kills and 40 deaths. Kamikaze ftw. I run in there and start firing before they realise where I am.

Who needs aim.

Thanks for that. Or should it be 'you're welcome'?

One sniping is not camping. Two Re-read number technique two how is that anywhere near camping? I said move about. And if i put move after each kill would you be happy? Don't be absurd. In Rl you don't see soliders giving up a good spot after getting a kill. If you get a good spot hold onto it. Ignorant cretin.

Oh and camping is lieing in wait in a spot. I said shoot from a window so not camping at all.
*sigh* I suppose sniping is not camping, and I did not say that #2 was camping; I said it was playing normaly. Please do not drag real combat into this, this is nothing like real life gunfights. Getting a good spot, armoring it down, and staying there waiting for people to pass by IS camping.

Ignorant cretin, thats a good one. =)

But on topic, I also recomend Camo for maps like Makin where you need to be hiden while you move.

I've always been worried about being a "camper". If I find a good spot where I get a succession of kills and provides decent cover, I'll stay there until I die or I feel it's been compromised by getting too many kills in that spot. But isn't that just good strategy? Is that what 'camping' is?

I don't think I've played WaW and not died at least 6 times in a multiplayer match and have killed less than 20 people in total! So there is always worse than you out there...sometimes I get frustrated that I'm not really improving, but for the majority of the time I am having too much fun to care, sure I don't rank well stats wise at the end, and those on my team are probably unlucky to have me there, but games are about playing we can't all win, and I bet theres another game you excel at anyways! :)

Because he did not ask for tips in the op so maybe it was not what he wanted.
Then please give him tips. I haven't played the WaW multiplayer that much.

I play TF2 and suck. I play Halo ad suck.

I'm only good at sniping cause theres not much risk of dieing and i have a quick hand.

I guess practice can help.

EDIT: By that i mean, learn the maps, learn the weapons, learn the hide spots/weapon spawns etc.

Well... I haven't played CoD:WaW, but if you're good at a couple of FPS, you're good at pretty much all of them.

So...

There's a few tactics that work in all FPS games (Just about).

- Try to aim at their chest for CoD (other FPS' tend to favor headshots).
- Don't run out into wide open spaces. You don't need to camp, but try to run from cover to cover. Basically give everyone else as little a chance to get a shot at you as possible. You want to try and pop up for a fraction, get a kill, get back in cover, and move to a safer spot.
- If someone tries to snipe you and missed... don't run yourself straight back out for a shot at them. You'll usually die.
- It sucks, but some games favor crouch spam and dolphin diving. In CoD4 especially it was helpful to bunny hop and jump around corners whilst crouching or going prone. I'm not sure about CoD:WaW in this regard.
- Use a pair of headphones and listen for those footsteps. It helps a lot.
- If you know where someone is, then aim at where you think they'll be and start firing just 'before' you come around the corner.
- Learn the maps. Also spectate a good player and watch where they move and what they do.

It doesn't matter dude, as long as you have fun when you play that's all that matters!

And if you don't like losing just play the single player on easy mode!

I played oblivion on easy because I was so bored of taking 10 minutes to kill each troll.
See, that's the thing. I mean, it sucks to lose, but I still have fun. And I don't get better. My equilibrium is at 'terrible'. I rarely get enough kills for an artillery strike and maybe unleashed the dogs 6 times and I'm at lvl 41. I can unload the clip of a BAR on an enemy accross the battlefield, hit him three times and get popped with one shot and go down. I can go five minutes as a sniper without seeing the enemy only to be stabbed from behind while finding some kills.

And I love every minute of it. I'm pathetic.
You're not playing it right. The best way to be good at COD games, and well any multiplayer games is to have an advantage over the enemy at all times. Don't ever give yourself a reason to get killed. If you have problems with your aim, then I suggest getting it for PC with a mouse. If your already using a mouse then it's not your fault. It took time for me to adjust with it and it certainly won't be any faster for you. You learn and get better, you just have to refine your strategy.

@quickpaw(so I don't have to quote all of those post)

1. Oh ok ^_^
2. Why not say that then? I mean, giving more details and elaborating on the concept is important for giving advice, but say what you mean <_<

Still, I'm pretty crap at racing games.
I love playing racing games. I'm really good on single player but when I go online, even when everybody is using the same car I still get smoked. I don't particularly understand it, but oh well, I have fun.
